Did you forget he also drafted Siemian, 6'3", Chad Kelly, 6'2" and Zac Dysert, 6'3"?
Osweiler and Lynch were also both fairly high-profile quarterbacks coming into the draft.

No. I didn't forget them. I already made the distinction. He didn't draft any of those scrubs to be the franchise QB, they were late round fliers.

Cool. Elway was the one who picked both. Both suck.Jason wrote:Osweiler and Lynch were also both fairly high-profile quarterbacks coming into the draft.

Siemian is quite good. Phenomenal if you consider the o-line he played with last year.

No, he's not good at all and the only people who even think he's an average QB are massive Broncos homers.
If you love 3 yard completions on 3rd and 7, yes Siemian is phenomenal.

Siemian had two good games all year. Average to awful in all others. He is basically your average 2010s Texans starter. Your boy Darrell Hackney may still have more upside.

Have you and a friend ever threw a football around except you always have to chase the ball because it's never thrown anywhere near you? That would be what it would be like to play catch with Ryan Mallet. Holy fuck is he bad :x

Don't the better ones tend to be tall? That's my guess.

Prototypical is 6'4". Just so happens that is GOATs height.showa58taro wrote:Don't the better ones tend to be tall? That's my guess.

"Tall" for a QB is 6'6" and above. 6'3"-6'5" is average. There are very few who are 6'6" or taller, and they're certainly not better.

Yeah, Marino is 6'4", but Elway is 6'3" and Manning, 6'5".Reign in Blood wrote:Prototypical is 6'4". Just so happens that is GOATs height.showa58taro wrote:Don't the better ones tend to be tall? That's my guess.
Re: NFL Offseason, 2017
I would imagine it can be frustrating to deal with the issues a shorter qb will tend to experience. Rolling them out more, changing their drop depth, and helping them find passing lanes that you do not have to deal with taller guys.
Ever try to teach someone how to do something and they physically cannot do it, or have to find work around that impact the end product? You see the batted balls on tv but you do not see the shorter guys altering their arm angles and sacrificing accuracy trying to find lanes to deliver the ball.
We have a guy on the food truck who is constantly bending and fucking up the spatulas. It was frustrating and it took a bit to figure out that was what he needed to do to get leverage to smash the burgers, as the person who designed it is a foot taller and 100 pounds heavier.

I assumed he was drafting in the 6'4"+ range and avoided shorter. I didn't realize he was literally drafting Giants.

I put this up on my YouTube app. Watching now. What is it with Denver and cornerbacks? Chris Harris is my favorite corner and has been since he came into the league. I know he gets love and all that, but it still feels like he is a tad underrated. Only because you don't really hear people talk about him much.Jason wrote:

Roberto Aguayo was cut by the Buccaneers. They traded up to draft him in the draft last year. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. They said he was the most accurate kicker in college football history, but I remember seeing his kicks and a lot of them barely, and I mean barely made it in there. That was a red flag already, for me. I never would've went after him in the draft, let alone in the 2nd round, nor would I have traded up to get him. Stupid ass move. Someone made an incredible lowlight video of all his misses last year. The song is excellent.
I feel bad for Aguayo, but I think we can all agree that when the Bucs drafted him in the 2nd round, the pick was no good.

He is immensely underrated. He mostly just gets love in Broncos Country. You can't argue against Denver having the best cornerback tandem, but it can be argued that the #1 and #2 corners in the entire league are both in Denver right now.Jmac Attack wrote:I put this up on my YouTube app. Watching now. This video must be seen by all. Where the hell did that song come from? Sounds Adam Sandler and/or South Park inspired.Jason wrote:Roberto Aguayo was cut by the Buccaneers. I do feel terrible for the guy. He was cut on national television, too.
