Screamin A! Long time as a Philly writer and talk show contributor before he made it big time.
Long time as a douchebag.
Head got it right, he is doing WWF heel promos. That is his gimmick.

Massive whiff by Reign. Stephen A. is incredible TV.
He did a Twitter Q&A yesterday and it was absolutely electric.

I am physically repulsed by Stephen A. Smith. I believe if I was ever to see him or hear his voice in real life my organs would liquify and pour out through my asshole and my eyes would ignite like gas soaked rags. I don't like Stephen A. Smith

I just subscribed to his podcast and will consume basically as much Stephen A. content as possible.

I'm like 5 hot takes in and digging it. He's got his moments.
I used to be a hater, then a light bulb went off for me. It's performance art and he's objectively incredible at it.

I like the approach in that twitter vid. However, just an RT would do just fine. The fact he went to the effort of copying and pasting his Q to his own twitter and then answering with a video is a bit much. Then remarks about the other guy wasting his time, who typed out his question in exactly 3 seconds. lol.
He's got a way to go.

I feel like I'm not following. Are you suggesting it would be better for Stephen A. to tweet his answers in written form? I mean he's enough of an icon at this point that everyone would just read his tweets in his voice and be entertained, but 100% of his analysis needs to be said out loud. That's his gift.
He is pretty much the go-to-guy for takes across sports at ESPN, so I'd say he's on top of the mountain.

Vid response is fine. But there are some issues with his approach.
Instead of replying directly to the guy, Screamin' A copied and pasted his question and created his own tweet out of it, but proceeded to call the guy out for wasting his time. It's one thing to create a video in response to text, it's another to make your own tweet about it, then whine about the guy wasting your time.
Better scenario: Film himself le casually reading the guy's tweet, then fire off a quick response and reply to him with the video.

If you directly reply to someone, the tweet doesn't show up on your followers' timeline, your followers would have to click on your "tweets and replies" section to see it (and most people don't use Twitter that way) so it would significantly limit the exposure.
And it was fair game for him to respond to that guy the way he did, it was a snarky question. You come at the king, you best not miss.

I'm not sure where this newfound admiration for Screamin A came from. Every one of us would annihilate him in a sports discussion.

From my thoughts.
We would all lose as none of us are capable of articulating talking points at that level, no matter how much we know.

Esquire, when it concerns the Broncs, I think if you, Jason and I combined cohesive brains Screamin' A would be Dreaming. So much so Brandon Perna would be a in a fuckin' coma as well, that candy ass fuck.

Sure, when it comes to the Broncos. And individually probably for MMA, wrestling, UCLA football etc. On a platform where we're talking national stories though in a First Take-esque debate format, no chance. We may have the science down, but not the art.

Guys a knob with a somehow successful shtick that has nothing to do with sports knowledge. Makes no sense.
