Hopefully it's as solid as many of you say, then maybe it'll be a grand rewatch.
It's well liked and respected, so you'll probably hate it :P
I remember moderately liking it, but I'll cool with this outcome also. :P

Start with The Changeling. :D
I've always wanted to see that.

I guarantee you will dig that shit. Quiet the house down. turn off the lights, pop some corn and it's a guaranteed blast.

Right. It is definitely one of those "no distractions dammit!" movies.

I spoil myself and watch all my movies like that: Surround sound, alone in the house, lights off, snacks etc... But yeah, Changeling is one of those where it's pretty essential. It demands your attention, and it deserves it.

Alas, that's not one of the better ones. You have any free time this challenge, I'd recommend The Last Warning (1929) and perhaps The Cat and the Canary (1927). Both are classics (though I've never heard anyone aside from myself ever talk about The Last Warning, which is a damn shame).

Trying to do some last-minute movie watching this month. Ideally, I like leaving the week previous to the beginning of October empty of horror films, so I don't feel overloaded. So from now until the 22nd or so, there's something like ten to thirteen movies I want to watch and get out of the way.

I believe I watched 106 last year for my first year here. I took some days off within the month for a break. If I can get the same total this year, or even pass it by one, I will be happy.
I have not compiled a list as of yet, but I still have time. I can't wait to start!

Couple of questions. Does watching while listening to audio commentary count? And if so, does it count if I already watched that movie for the challenge? I want to watch The Changeling and then again with the commentary.

watching the movie twice in one challenge, does not count the second time. whether it's with commentary or not.

Duly noted. Thanks.

Maybe I'll open up with The Changeling since everyone else is.

Hopefully Cage's hammy acting doesn't push others to claim it's too comedic to be counted.

Only thing that comes to mind is if you find Day of the Reaper (1984) anywhere, let me know.

Other than that, I should be good. I've not actually made a list of what I'll be watching yet (I will next week), so I don't know what I'll necessarily need yet. I have a "want-to-see" list of horror movies on IMDb, so I'll be using a random-number generator and picking 40 of them to watch (from a pool of three based on ease of viewing). Should be a fun time.
