I'm not in the know with the box office allegations, but when she started her leftist, lecturing-tirade, it became highly speculated that the film would do poorly coupled with the fact that a lot of actual die hard Marvel fans weren't even all that excited about it regardless of politics. People have remarked about seats being empty at opening showings, citing rotten tomatoes as altering their "audience score" ratings, among other junk. I wouldn't put it past Hollywood to pull this shady stuff for sure, though.

i don't put it past them, if it would actually be profitable for them. but it's not hollywood. it's just disney. no other studio is gonna go along with that, so even if it is happening, it's just gonna be disney. but it looks like a complete conspiracy theory with no real basis, if you actually give it any kind of scrutiny. but it is fun to float, for people who want to see captain marvel fail because of brie larson.

The shadiness of Disney and their stranglehold on things is well known. Mouse House has toys in the attic, Zombs... broken toys.

well, sure. stranglehold. but if you want actually discuss how they would do something like that, and the cost of it, and why they would for captain marvel only. that would be great. otherwise, it's just trying to float a baseless rumor.

First off, why do you think for captain marvel only? But how do you know how much money a movie really makes?

cause i've only heard it for captain marvel. which other films are a possibility? why not do it for solo, if you're gonna do it at all? that kind of bombed, for a star wars flick.

i don;t know how much it really makes, only how much is reported by people who aren't disney. if those numbers are increased beyond what is actually paid for, it's on theater owners? if more tickets are bought than moviegoers who attend then that would be on disney, most likely. which is it?

correction: not even 400mil worldwide is kind of a bomb for any big film now, not just for star wars. so that's solo....

so why is brie larson worth that much? not only breaking even. but on the way to crossing a billion, falsely. why isn't the second only "a starwars story" worth that?

`what other studios wouldn't draw blood to uncover something huge like that? what non-disney owned news source wouldn't too?

More than rumors. Theater managers have spoken up about how the showings are sold out, but when they look in on the seats during the show, there's 20-30 spots open. They state this is NOT a normal thing, people usually show up for seats they pay for.

This was during opening weekend though.

Because they're heavy-handedly shoving her in our faces, and saw Solo bomb, so they want it to look successful in spite of trolls, even though more than trolls have come out stating the movie just isn't that great.

so about $160-ish, on the lower end, for even just one theater. how many owners reported that? is it more than one area or even more than one state?

When I saw it on its opening Saturday, my theater was only maybe half full. I have no idea if the seats were sold out though.

Yes, Disney went to considerable effort for a 160 dollars.
