For some reason that sounds like a shitty combination.

very well acted. nice to see pacino, deniro, and pesci all together. thus ends my review of the film.

I'll probably see it. I don't hold gangster movies to be in such high regard, though. So we'll see how it is...

Pretty damn good deal here, guys. I almost took the plunge and paid the whole 65-70 bucks for it. But thankfully I waited and it dropped to 39.99. You get the movie, action figure and an 18X24 poster.
I honestly wouldn’t have cut a thing from The Irishman and I bet it was a tight squeeze to get to 3.5 hours.

After sleeping on it, the only thing I don't care for is the cgi de-aging. It's less distracting for most of the movie, but early on, it's pretty distracting. The rest of the time, it's mostly how bright the blue eyes keep popping out.

And I was wondering how you ended up with Worst Taste...

People are hyping it up everywhere, but I don't let hype affect the way I view a movie. I get a good idea of what to expect from it on my own before going in.

According to the trivia it was originally at 4 hours.

Some are great. Love Heat, Pulp Fiction, Casino, among others... but chest-puffing seems to be the #1 goal in a lot of them and I just ain't buying it half the time. Too often is it tryhard and way too cheesy when it's supposed to be serious.

There's a lot there in that 3.5 hours, I can't think of anything that should be cut either. I mostly didn't feel the time go by, and I watched it late at night after a workday.

Definitely not. I was talking about this one:

when i think of gangster movies, a few of my favorites are.... the professional, once upon a time in america, state of grace, heat, bonnie and clyde, reservoir dogs, king of new york, donnie brasco, eastern promises. and of course the godfather 1&2, goodfellas and the departed are a given.

Leon: The Professional and Bonnie & Clyde were fantastic. I barely remember Leon, though. Still need to remedy Once Upon a Time in -Hollywood- -the West- America. The Godfather bored me to tears, but that was 15 years ago or so.

Come to think of it, the only de-aging I didn't really notice was Pacino's. Seemed to work as good on him as Samuel L Jackson's in Captain Marvel.

Now that I ranked it on my flickchart, it's come it at 3rd for the year for me, behind Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Doctor Sleep.
