Good call! And memory, as yeah, I don't think Human Beings was written for it, but good jam. But Respect was.

I guess that's how much Will Smith has gotten old and fallen off, he used to be the king at that shit.

Last good one I can see is Lose Yourself, but that's more Purple Rain/musical.

I did a quick google search and saw they're still being made, but it's shit I've never heard outside of the films themselves. No real jams that you could listen to whenever.

see you again from fast and furious 7 is the only recent memorable song i can think of, from something non-animated.

Happy by Pharrell Williams might have been the most played song in the world for one sad stretch of time.

Considering the sad state of music industry economics in this Spotify/iTunes world, more artists should be open to making movie songs.
I think filmmakers view it as largely corny and something that takes you out of the movie which a lot of the time is true.

Not written for the movie, was originally supposed to be a jam for CeeLo Green. There's a motherfucker that dropped off the planet.

Probably the best answer.

Probably, but sad, as that wasn't for the movie.

Apparently they're making a
sequel to Labyrinth. On the one hand, the world of Labyrinth is awesome, and I'd love for more of that. On the other, Bowie's dead, so fuck that. I know there's some manga out there about Toby becoming the new goblin king, but I'm not a fan of that idea.

Never been one of my flicks, but I know the adoration for it, and without Bowie and any real Jim Henson out there, fuck it.

could be cool to see what derrickson does with puppets in a somewhat dark fantasy setting. but does it have to be labyrinth?

The Hensons are involved, but yeah, no Jim and no Bowie.

Exactly. Come up with your own shit instead of making a sequel to a film over thirty years old.

if that actually happens, i wonder how many younger moviegoers are gonna compare it to pan's labyrinth...

Another topic, good practical effects in movies today? Last impressive ones you've seen? Watching NOES marathon, they actually have Mechanical Designers/Effects listed in the OPENING credits. Opening, giving the dudes their due. You ain't seeing shit in the opening unless some Disney actors is attached anytime lately.

Kids these days...
Can't really blame them for being ignorant, though, considering the time difference between films.

Set Me Free, Velvet Revolver for Ang Lee's Hulk.
They rerecorded it for the debut album, but the song first appeared for the Hulk soundtrack (basically a demo version). And I dug that song too. I think they knew it was going to be used for the Hulk Soundtrack, but didn't necessarily write it with the movie in mind, so could be a grey area.
Sorry, that was all I could think of while at work
