If you read up on the topic, you will learn that estimates on trans people are difficult right now because:

- you have a trans explosion in society
- you have a military willing to pay for their surgery and hormones that they otherwise could not afford
- the long term costs per individual are unknown

These surgeries and hormones are expensive. Look it up. Also does not take a genius to realize that going into the military to get a new gender is not the best idea.
