It’s not the DNC who need to pick better anything. Voters now face the choice between Biden and Trump. And if you can live with Trump then don’t vote Biden. And vice versa. And then you get to live in that country for the next 4 years. It’s irrelevant what ideal or non-Lemon would’ve looked like. You forfeited better choices and now you get one of two outcomes and you decide which matters.
