Steph Curry should let Trump babble in his ear for five minutes about nonsense so people on the internet can delude themselves into thinking an open and fair dialogue is taking place that is actually helping anyone. Because it's totally the setting for "frank conversations". *yawns*

Please do not undermine the actual work these guys do to improve their communities by pretending the White House visit is of any practical significance and that they're missing some big opportunity. Do you guys not understand what a bunch of nothing the White House trip for championship teams is? They're there to exchange pleasantries, not propose legislation. Complete and utter bullshit to suggest it means anything.

Also, this conversation has no place in a sports thread. Already way way too often are we seeing politics bleeding into other threads, like this one or random chats. This topic is not designed to elicit a sports reaction, don't put it in the sports section. We're already a glorified politics forum, can we draw a line somewhere? It will be better for everyone. It's gonna get really annoying really fast if we don't.

Agreed. Can't prevent it every time, but we should pay more attention. It is fucking annoying when certain people start out random chats with dumb shit that liberals do. Lol

Truth be told, you both make good points. But since Fuck the Warios, point to Seb, winner!

There's no wrong answer. But plenty of guys skipped Obama visits and we didn't bury them for it.

Is the whole team skipping it?

I haven't even heard anything official, just rumors. I know Steve Kerr floated the idea of still going for some of the reasons Seb suggested, but it's all speculation right now.

Oh, poisoning the well of the random chats with politics is BS for sure. I feel bad for the people who want to maintain a mostly apolitical presence here, doesn't seem fair to them.

We really don't need more politics. Doesn't mean we should have less, but no reason for it to bleed across sections ever.

While I agree with you guys in general, this one I don't see foul in putting it here as plenty in the politics thread don't give a flying fuck about sports. And it's really more of Fuck the Warios than anything. :)

This has nothing to do with sports. Not a single point discussed has been about sports.

One two three four five Sixers!
Ten nine eight 76ers!

God bless you Sam Hinkie. I never had a doubt.

Forecast for most of the East in the future is bad too, ton of teams who will need to tear it down and start over. Of course a lot of those teams wasted years going "all in" for first round exits while the 76ers just kept collecting ping pong balls.

The "trust the process" thing was the most brilliant sports marketing ever. They managed to get their fanbase excited about losing for the indefinite future and now that there's a light at the end of the tunnel, they sold out season tickets.

No. It's only used as an extension of Trump dick sucking in this thread.

Ffs, Jason presented a goddamn fantasy in this thread about John Elway cuckolding Brandon Marshall for Trump. It's a disgusting love fest.

Like you said earlier, plenty have skipped out on White House visits, even GOATQB Tom Brady. If the whole team does, then I'll have a point of contention. Until then it's just Fuck the Warios.

I thought that was funny. You thought it was disgusting. Jason thinks it's truth. Ahhh, how we differ. :P

Regardless, this is 100% a political topic. We've got Jason's Trump/Elway fantasies, concern about Trump's schedule, a deflection to Obama, and then Seb's push for the Warriors to treat the visit like MLK marching across fuckin' Selma. This is politics, some cheap "fuck the Warios" posts don't change that.

When Brandon Marshall was doing the Kaepernickel, what did he do? He actually went to local police and engaged in conversation with them etc. I don't think Jason's fantasy is true at all because I think he would actually go to have a conversation with Trump. But you're right, it's politics, within the sports realm. Talking about Brandon Marshall and Kaepernickel would be lost on most in the politics forum.

I don't see why it would be lost one anyone, they're football players...that's about all there is to say I'd think.

I mean the Warriors play in shitass Oakland. They are the community role models already, what they do for the people there makes a far bigger measurable impact than chatting with Trump. Obviously food drives aren't gonna make national headlines or anything though.
