well, the marvel movies are more successful and thus have more fans, or more vocal fans cause they feel more justified in their position.Jigsaw wrote:I was talking purely based on what I've heard and the ratings I've seen for most of those movies. Yeah, they've got a massive hivemind going. Even when Marvel Movies share the same flaws as a DC movie, it gets praised more, which raises suspicion over Disney, but Marvel fans eat it up.zombie wrote:well, the marvel movies are more successful and thus have more fans, or more vocal fans cause they feel more justified in their position.Jigsaw wrote:I was talking purely based on what I've heard and the ratings I've seen for most of those movies. I was just talking DC-based movies in general, which is why I threw Joker in.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Joker doesn't count as part of the extended universe.Jigsaw wrote:I was talking purely based on what I've heard and the ratings I've seen for most of those movies. Most of the ratings are more positive with the audience than critics. Critics just don't want to like Snyder in general. It's pretty much expected that any movie he puts out that's not Dawn of the Dead will get mixed to poor reviews.

The Marvel movies are just flat out better in every aspect

Critics didn’t like 300 and Watchmen? I probably misremembered and assumed they did, especially 300. To me his first three movies are far and away better than anything he’s done since. And I gave the DC stuff a fair chance. I am looking forward to Army of the Dead.

The Iron Man sequels, Avengers 2, Guardians 2 are the four I’ve seen that I thought were trash.

I find rewatch value of Black Panther my 3rd all-time comic character low. The Claw should of been the antagonist in that film

Watchmen's still my favorite Snyder movie though, in spite of the mixed response it got.

Lol I can see Watchmen being divisive but what was the problem with 300? Did they understand it’s not supposed to be Ben-Hur or Spartacus?DancesWithWerewolves wrote:300 and Watchmen were in the mixed category.Headhunter wrote:Critics didn’t like 300 and Watchmen? I enjoyed Ant-Man more than I thought I would. I didn't think it was fantastic, but still pretty fun. Haven't seen the second one, though.

Re: May 22nd 2020
I don't remember. I just remember being surprised because of all the buzz it had (word of mouth), then I saw the RT score only a couple years ago and was like, "huh?". I didn't dive in on reading. I was already annoyed with RT at that point for getting exposed for fudging their numbers.Headhunter wrote:Lol I can see Watchmen being divisive but what was the problem with 300?
