That was depressing as hell but as good as advertised.Headhunter wrote:Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead (2007)
Holy fucking shit this movie rules. Fairly basic jewel heist plot starring Phillip Seymour-Hoffman and Ethan Hawke, last movie directed by the great Sidney Lumet (12 Angry Men, Dog Day Afternoon, Network). This is a really a movie you should go into blind but once you see where it’s going, just spirals and spirals into total darkness. Also lots of topless Marisa Tomei. I’m not sure why this movie was never a big deal, it really slipped through the cracks, but I can’t recommend it enough.
Nevermind. I guess it's supposed to be that way since it happens again later, it just doesn't make sense.Slaughterhouserock wrote:Possessor. Really bad continuity error in the first two minutes. Not a good sign, but it'll be forgivable if the rest is good.
Damn now I want to watch The Great OutdoorsDancesWithWerewolves wrote:Don't care if it's not timely, I'm on a John Candy kick. The Great Outdoors.
Lol yup, basically an endless downward spiral with no relief. It’s so good! Amazing cast and the last movie from a legendary director and I’d never heard of it. Really think this is one more people need to see.Monster wrote:That was depressing as hell but as good as advertised.Headhunter wrote:Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead (2007)

Agreed. I recommended it to both my brothers. The cast is phenomenal.Headhunter wrote:Lol yup, basically an endless downward spiral with no relief. It’s so good!
