American Beast is pretty dorky so far, but I dig how far they went to make it look like it was shot in the 1960's. I think they might have actually used an old camera, because it doesn't look digitally altered. Could've been, but it really feels more like a vintage camera.

Even the sound design is like the old movies, lol.

So I guess this (American Beast) is an anthology werewolf movie, with all the stories strung together with this dude going over his inheritance, which the property has had grizzly murders over the years (by werewolves, nootch). We're now on a found footage story.

Here I thought they were just being cheap with not showing the werewolf, but nope. It's not a werewolf movie. The climax reveals it to be a Wendigo tree monster. Like a homicidal Groot, but ridiculously bad CGI. Ruined my werewolf streak.

Starting Lycanthrope. Can't misidentify with that title.

This movie has Lewis Fuckin' Skolnick!

Yeah, modern Werewolf movies haven't been the greatest. The last good one I can recall was Late Phases and Howl (minus the ending.) If you see one called Dark Moon Rising, please stay away from it, you'll thank me for it. :P

I saw Dark Moon Rising last year, or the year before. Yeah it was bad, lol.

I liked Late Phases, don't recall if I've seen Howl. Is that the one on the train?

I also didn't mind Wolves with Jason Mamoa, it was decent, but with every somewhat alright werewolf movie you have to sit through crap like Werewolf Rising.

Well, i'm gonna go lay in bed and try to get a few movies watched before I get the urge to fall asleep. I actually found The Blackcoat's Daughter at a pawn shop, so i'm gonna start with that and see where the night takes me.

Wolfen is definitely different. I dig Albert Finney, though.
