"strict remit".. so expand on that. what should fall to the police to handle, as armed guards. and what should be left to un-armed responders?

Take a page out of most countries books. Disarm the majority if police and only send in armed police to attend where the risk assessment requires it.

http://library.college.police.uk/docs/a ... 9.3.19.pdf Is an interesting examination of some of the considerations in play.

Sweden shows no police killings and an average of 15 guns fired per annum out if 1.4m instances of police activity.

The guiding principle continues to be direct and imminent threat to human life either for the officers or the public. Here again only if the police have control over the area of discharge to avoid accidental casualties.

A brief (If unnuanced) examination of policing in Japan. Common to all these is the inherent lack of guns and lack of use in every conceivable situation.

To me police should only need to go in strong and armed when their is known and immediate threat to life.

The clear obstruction of justice from the Trump administration right now is unreal.

"When you do testing to that extent, you are going to find more people, you will find more cases. So I said slow the testing down." - Trump

It’s amazing how fucking stupid this man is.

The important thing here isn’t to stop the virus, but to get people to forget about it so that it won’t reflect on Trump.

Trump performing to a half empty arena. Some highlights: talk about our “heritage” in regard to the Confederacy, complaining about a ramp, drinking a glass of water to show off, suggesting less COVID testing, my supporters could beat up liberals, calling COVID the Kung Flu

As a bonus, one of his three special needs sons called BLM protesters “animals”.

Although in all seriousness your point proves mine. You’re saying more guns means more danger that cops have to react to and exactly proves why the police doesn’t currently work.

more potential for danger, so you can't be sure what you're walking into. we're in agreement that some change needs to be made. i'm just not sure how much of that change should be un-armed responders.

Lmao. They claimed protesters outside were blocking people from coming in. Meanwhile, footage at the gates showed people freely walking into the arena all day.

There isn’t one thing they won’t lie about.

Is this supposed to be the elephant in the room? America is too far gone with guns. This is partially why the dynamic is different.

You don't want armed guards. Everybody's got a gun, or a threat of one.

Even if they were blocking them from coming in, conservatives love to portray themselves as toughies and act like they are the only ones with guns. I thought they could just rough up *antifa*? Lulz

Tom Petty would not have wanted Trump to use his song. It's funny because I Wont Back Down would make a better song for protesters. Lol. Pretty sure they can get some Charlie Daniels or Wang Dang Sweet Poontang by the Nuge.
