I disagree strongly it was people who didnt want government going left as they perceived the Obama years taking them.

Their perception couldn’t have been more wrong. Obama’s administration was center-right and outside of the racists, the people who ended up hating him the most were young progressives.

Government as a whole has done nothing but move right since Reagan.

The Nixon administration was more left than any president’s administration in the past 40 years. Unions are dead. The wealth gap grows every year. The left in America has no political power, both parties are corporate whores.

Nobody wants to talk about where the vast majority of violence occurs and who is responsible. Is it racist to point out that the majority of crime is committed by black men? first, can we acknowledge that no one, at least no one on hmf, is separating cops by race. like bad cops are only coming from the number of them that are white, or that it's only bad when cops attack black americans?

second, what conclusions are you drawing, from the statistical proof that more black americans are arrested and incarcerated? what is your understanding of how that came to be, historically and socially?

can't solve a problem without dealing with the root of that problem. imprisoning more and more people can only go so far. address the problem, or it's only going to get worse. you don't want to address it. you just want to deal with the symptom. ie: arrest this bad guy. and then arrest that bad guy. the bigger issue needs to be addressed.

in the interest of conversation, mass incarceration started to ramp up, under richard nixon and his war on drugs and "law and order" presidency.

this followed the civil rights movement of the 50s and 60s. the trend continued with reagan, with bush, with clinton and so on.

black americans make up 34% of the prison population, which is the largest of any race.

Men (of any race) growing up without a father-figure make up the vast majority of criminal activity, and the race that happens to have the highest amount of criminal activity by far, also happens to be the race with the highest percentage of single motherhood. Democrats love it when black people are their victims. The numbers for black crime and black single motherhood skyrocketed when democrats made them dependent on the government. The democrats need to stop metaphorically chaining black people up and keeping them slaves for their victimization and political tactics, and black men need to stop having children and leaving before the child is born.
