i guess that depends on you who you have it with, and if you're willing to not be derailed by some others.
Spin it however you want. No conversation of that nature will ever be productive here.
enh, i guess it's a shortcoming that we'll just have to accept of ourselves.

I also feel like even the mention of racism, institutional or otherwise, and the possible race relations implication tends to be treated as some kind of "liberal fantasy" which by default means no discussion can be had on the matter. If you can't agree there is a problem, then there will never be a discussion as to what the solution is. I think that is what Head is getting at, and I can rather sympathize with him on it.

Exactly. Both sides so far apart, there aren't even any specific points of contention to discuss. Just both sides looking at each other like "WTF". Waste of time.

I have a lot of love for Trevor Noah. He's a great comedian, a good humanitarian, and he's really got an interesting (funny) perspective on the US that I value. Because he knows real overt state racism, and so he can make a very interesting comparison with his experiences as a mixed race child in Apartheid South Africa and the "American Experience"

I mean in this clip, you seem to be fixating over the telling of the story around how many cars he was in, rather than the actual key message. How you can take it that personally that an unscripted chat with the audience went the way it went is pretty impressive. But hey, you don't like views that aren't conspiracy theories from youtube nutjobs, so I guess I shouldn't take it personally that you've found this rather nice take on something to be such a point of contention.
Trevor Noah doesn't know shit about racism.

There is no message. There is only agenda, built on liberal horse shit. Fuck him. Horrible person.

This is the world we live in now.
I'm not buying that he was pulled over ten times. I mean eight times. I mean seven times. In ten different cars.

Lying dipshit. And he's exacerbating racism to benefit his career. Human scum.

It's the beauty and the curse of HMF. Everyone gets an equal say and right to post and direct the conversation. So yeah, Head and I could maybe have a reasonable chat about it, but it wouldn't be long before it'd be Foo and Jason involved pointing out that we were discussing a non-problem. And then we're back to my original point, you can't have a discussion if there's no acceptance of a problem.

On an aside (and it really is an aside) the new EPA asshat made the incredible observation "there should not be a debate about whether the climate is changing or if humans have an effect on the climate. Instead, the debate should be on "what are the policy changes that we need to make to affect that?" he's trying to say you can solve something you can't identify as a problem. I mean, if that isn't typical of the stupidity you find with the Trump cabinet, I don't know what is.

We can bicker all day. Neither side is willing to bend on the race issue. And now you're spouting horse shit about the other side silencing and bullying your side.

Horse shit. Stop watching Trevor Noah.

Blacks assault whites 200-1. They commit crime on an ASTRONOMICALLY larger scale than whites. But they are the victims.

You want to talk about racism being an issue, let's put the real shit on the table and not this "Oh, dearie me. Black people get pulled over more often". Whether true or not, they should. They commit MORE THAN 50% of the murder in this country, even though they only make up somewhere between 11-15% of the population. Black-on-black crime is totally ignored, black-on-white crime is totally ignored. White-on-black crime will always make it to mainstream news, and at least half the time it's utter horse shit.
