If the Democrats were going to somehow rig the election (even in state elections run by Republican legislatures), why the fuck would they give up House and Senate seats?

Exactly. I am 100% convinced that Republicans dont want anyone they dont like, to vote. It's so obvious. Dems aren't taking anyone's guns, and you cant fucking just kill a baby. Two huge lies they love to spread. My hope is that the conservatives start moving away from Qanon fuckwads, and just accepting that we live in a socially liberal society. There is no war on Christianity. I have 70 churches in my small city. When I scan for my local channels, half of them are literally Christian channels. No one cares. Just keep it out of politics. That's all.Headhunter wrote:If the Democrats were going to somehow rig the election (even in state elections run by Republican legislatures), why the fuck would they give up House and Senate seats?
Blame Republicans for not letting the mail in vote to be counted until the in person votes were counted. In Ohio, they let them be counted early. Hence why the first few hours Biden seemed to be kicking his ass. Then Trump slayed him in Ohio.Tiggnutz wrote:This is going to drag out for a long time. Just horrific
Yup, Iowa too. Trump told his supporters not to use the mail. Biden encouraged his supporters to. What has happened is not rocket science.Jmac Attack wrote:Blame Republicans for not letting the mail in vote to be counted until the in person votes were counted. And now Trumpets are threatening people at the polls in Philadelphia. Republicans are already separating themselves from Trump. LulzHeadhunter wrote:Yup, Iowa too. This is just clownish behavior from the GOP. All the monkey business with the postal service. Not allowing swing states to count early so you can sow seeds of doubt and promote conspiracies before the count is up. It’s really shameful. Maybe Republicans should try actually expanding their base and working to earn a majority of votes in national elections, instead of undermining faith in democracy with this nonsense that won’t even matter.
If that’s the case, the Republican Party needs to clean up this mess now. They can no longer enable him and have no reason to.zombie wrote:i think this is gonna get bad, when the election is called..
i want to be optimistic. but i don't see a way to clean it up at this point.Headhunter wrote:If that’s the case, the Republican Party needs to clean up this mess now. They can no longer enable him and have no reason to.zombie wrote:i think this is gonna get bad, when the election is called..
Really though, people like you and I need to be more proactive starting now instead of bitching and moaning because we all wait until a few months before elections. (Not saying you dont walk the walk, but you get my drift). I am guilty of it though. What can I do to help spread the good word? This two party shit has to go.Jigsaw wrote:that blue wave tho...
any blue wave is bigger than what support your third party candidate had behind them. so i don't understand what you're trying to get at?Jigsaw wrote:that blue wave tho...
I was actively trying to bring attention to third party candidates before Sanders even dropped out of the Democratic primary. Most people didn't care or got defensive about it. Which is whatever - that can't really be helped, even if thousands are willing to explain why they vote third party and why they think that third parties are the best way to go, it'll take decades to reach enough people, and I just don't think it'll work.Jmac Attack wrote:Really though, people like you and I need to be more proactive starting now instead of bitching and moaning because we all wait until a few months before elections. Just mocking the Democratic Party who thought that this election would have been a blow-out (look at the senate seats they were hoping to get, such as McGrath). This election, especially with COVID, should never have been this close, and Biden should never have won Michigan and Wisconsin by as slim a margin as he did. Many of the Democrats I know will be delighted once Biden is announced the winner, and almost none of them will realize just how utterly damning this election was for the party. Down-ballot races suffered, and the results, even with Biden winning, were just pathetic.zombie wrote:any blue wave is bigger than what support your third party candidate had behind them. so i don't understand what you're trying to get at?Jigsaw wrote:that blue wave tho...

I'm not optimistic about the future, and to be even more honest, I joined a local group of SPUSA (Socialist Party USA, who co-endorsed Hawkins this time around) but haven't done anything with them due to a combination of hopelessness and depression. There's definitely organizations to look into (and organizations to avoid, such as the DSA), but I'm not the happy-go-lucky hopeful guy when it comes to the future of this country and, related, world.
And yet, still pathetic margins of victory.Headhunter wrote:Biden’s going to finish with somewhere between 5-7 million more votes than Trump nationally, and by far the most votes ever in an election. But sure.
