Try putting in the game and finding out. Pretty sure I played offline mode without PS plus.

Nope. I refrained from purchasing in the first place due to the lack of hard copy available, then I heard about the online-only shenanigans, and even though they eventually put out a hard copy, I kept getting told it's still online only so I never shelled out.

Just did a rudimentary google search. Everything points to Reign's reviewer being a retard. You don't need PS plus to play offline challenges.

Once PS4 came out, they started charging for online play.

You can do everything in this game without a PSplus subscription except for online lobbies. Pop it in. You will not regret it. You will kick yourself for every day you didn't play it. It does the franchise full justice.

I can check if it has offline mode. Will look today.

As a matter of fact, when I first popped in the game I didn't do online mode because I didn't have a PS plus subscription. So I just played offline mode until I decided to buy it. So yeah. Offline is totally free.

With the PS5 coming out this year and the Friday game losing the rights to add anything more to the game, it's not going to be online for much longer. Really probably should play this game as much as you guys can before it disappears into the abyss forever, although I'm pretty sure you can play the wonderfully fun and detailed offline mode whenever the hell you want (hopefully)...
