Expensive olive oil burns and gets nasty at high temps.
I would recommend ghee.

True, it's not the healthiest, not sure Canola is so great either though. For awhile I had a pretty good avocado oil until they stopped selling it, fuckers.Jmac Attack wrote:We used to use that. But my heart doctors assistant said to try and stay away from Vegetable oil.Reign in Blood wrote:You never have regular vegetable oil?Jmac Attack wrote:The cheap olive oil, which is still 2x more expensive than Canola oil, is not that good IMO. But I've had the way more expensive olive oil, and it was good. Especially as an Italian style dip for bread.Jason wrote:I've seen it at the grocery store. May have tried it, not sure, but if I did I obviously never cared to go back to it.Jmac Attack wrote:It's cheap, but not that bad for you. We've used olive oil before, but the good shit is sooooooo expensive. I could have Trump money, and wouldn't pay $15.99 for a medium size bottle. I'm also not sure if it's good for high heat cookingJason wrote:I just use basic Canola oil.Jmac Attack wrote:Jason ..what kind of oil? We only have canola oil. Not sure if it would matter.

The canola oil I buy says it's heart healthy.

I just thought it was funny. I literally seek out the fattiest rib eye possible. Not really worried about the drop of oil in the pan it soaks up (if it even absorbs any).Reign in Blood wrote:Never will be a meme of me, my man.Foo wrote:*eats 200 g of beef fat from a steak in one sitting*

I remember revisiting it a number of years back and it's had this great clout, and in the revisit you realize it was only a 14 minute match, and while it had it's moments and charm, nothing was really epic about it. It's good for the stigma of the IC title and all, but then you got HBK and Razor tearing the roof off in unprecedented ladder matches and shiz. I would easily point to 10 other matches that I dig on multitude of reasons more than that. No signs of going out of business like rumored, and it was plenty busy. Bought three books today:Ava wrote:Love the games and brain teaser section at Barnes & Noble. They have stuff I can't find anywhere else. Like v-cubes with 8000 sides. Can't remember the last time I actually bought a book there though. I don't know how the one by me stays in business.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Thinking about hitting up the Barnes & Noble today, since I rarely get out to it anymore and rumor is it could be closing soon like Borders.
Hitting a going out of business sale would be sweet.
Stephen King's Roadwork (never read, sounded interesting reading the back, soon I'll have to find one of the out of print copies of Rage so I can complete his Richard Bachman run)
Tom Clancy's Spinter Cell - Operation Barracuda (interested in getting into his work, but wanted to start with one of his smaller ones, turns out these aren't even written by him, but was still giving it a shot)
Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian (because it is apparently the next closest thing to his No Country For Old Men flavor, and I don't think I've ever read a western before, it was highly recommended online).
Went to the mall nearby too, really nothing there for me anymore. It's the same clothing store over and over again with different names. I miss Suncoast and Sam Goody. The walking was epic though, two days in a row I haven't walked like that in a long time. Years. My body feels it.

Ditto. But I apparently love vinegary tastes. Explains my love of pickles too.Tiggnutz wrote:I myself like a bit of A1 no matter what the quality of the steak.Reign in Blood wrote:Needs moar A1.Jason wrote:The method I developed for cooking a sirloin a million times...
High heat, oil in
Once the pan starts to smoke, turn to a medium/medium high heat (65-70% of stove's fire capacity)
Sit for 3-7 minutes, depending on the thickness of the cut
flip
About 90 seconds before finish, cut off a few butter squares, add to the pan and let it melt.
Put steak on the plate
Fuck A1 sauce, pour the remaining juices from the steak/butter/oil on top of the steak for GOAT flavor
Let sit for two minutes
Rape steak

Did you look in the actually dvd section? Because the Black Friday stuff usually has it's own section off by itself.Jason wrote:Ash vs. Evil Dead was full price at Wal-Mart. Maybe the 9 dollars was a Kentucky thing. :p

It was DVD and on sale for $9.96 and like I mentioned last night. I'd rather pay $10 instead of the prices Jason listed. They should have a dvd display somewhere in the store with all the opening day leftovers to look through.Jason wrote:Not sure blu ray or dvd. Havok said it was 9 bucks. Yeah, I searched everywhere. Only found it in the DVD section where it normally is. The prices said the blu ray was 29 and the DVD was 34. I scanned them to make sure and yeah, they were full price.Havok wrote:Did you look in the actually dvd section? Still though, even 29 bucks for the complete three season blu ray isn't bad. Might get it one of these days.

Got a month free of Amazon Prime. I had no idea they had such a wide variety of horror. Just the low budget films are enough to keep my interest, but throw in the various older flicks they have, and it definitely seems worth it.
For my thoughts on the horror films I've seen, please look here: https://jigsawshorrorcorner.wordpress.com/

Make sure you go into settings before the 30 days is up and turn off auto-purchase for prime, otherwise they'll bill you for a year's worth.Jigsaw wrote:Got a month free of Amazon Prime.
