The Invisible Man (2020) ........... A-

Elizabeth Moss is fucking terrific in this. There are a couple things that require suspending disbelief (little things, like the security at the mental ward) but overall it's suspense is very effective and twisting the story into an abusive ex and making her look like she's crazy really works.

And did she meet Tom Cruise in the end? Or how is this fitting into the Dark Universe they are building up?

I heard it was left separate. But no, no meeting Tom Cruise in the end, unless there was an after credits I wasn't aware about.

Dark Universe is pretty much dead in the water at this point.

Snatchers - teen comedy with monsters. Too much "teen speak" for me. The monsters were ok, but were cg whenever they moved, which sucked. Overall ok, though.

I Hate the Man in My Basement. Weird drama, but interesting.

What Lies Beneath

Haven't seen this since I was a teen. I can't believe I thought of Michelle Pfeiffer as an older lady in this.

El Hoyo aka The Hole. Sci-fi horror with a pretty fucked up premise. Much better than I expected it to be.

No shit. For the life of me I couldn't spot the older lady during this viewing. Lol

Got around to watching the last Star Wars. Whole lotta meh. The only good bit was the little mechanic dude. His design reminded me of the puppets in Troll and he was pretty funny. Beyond that, it was a bad effort in trying to appease the fanboys.

Horse Girl. That was a bit of a wacky one.

Vivarium. Interesting film. I get what's going on, but I don't get why they don't just kill the little demon fucker once they realize it's not human. Also, since I'm so anti-kids, I made this:

Demon

I did like it but it felt like in the end it went nowhere. Built up and then...nothing.

Girl on the Third Floor

The trailer was better than the entire film. What a ball of meh.

Black Christmas for the millionth time. I'm not much for artistry in film, but damn if that isn't one of the most beautifully made horror films. That last shot of the camera slowly going through the house, up to the attic where we see Billy is still yearning to silence Agnes, the slow pan out from the attic window, then that final, portentous phone call. Absolute brilliance. If I were a fucking poet, I still wouldn't be able to put to words how fucking good this film is. Damn it! It's just fucking good!
