It will get heated. Can't take it, don't open the forum.

Out of curiosity, when were the better times to be a woman or a minority?
In this piece of shit country, there really weren't any. Unlike Seb, I don't think Obama was any good for the common American either.
This hate is robbing you of your life, sir.
That'd be capitalism.
Let's say this is true. Are you going to spend your whole life complaining about a rigged game, or are you going to play the game society demands and live your best life?

I mean, I wouldn't mind if people gave me everything I need, but that is not going to happen, so I go out and do my best in the world we live in.
first: don't think capitalism is the problem in itself. greed is the problem.
Show me capitalism without inherent greed and inequality, and I'll stop being a socialist.
no you won't. :P you won't accept that capitalism can exist without greed or inequality. you will insist that socialism done badly is not the fault of the system, but when capitalism is done badly it must always be the fault of the system.
I agree, capitalism is a bad system inherently and should be abolished.
you agree with how i characterized you? awesome.
I don't, but it strikes me as one of those conversations that doesn't actually lead anywhere of consequence, which is common with political disagreements here, and in general.

Because this country is so divided that we even try to find a way to stick up for the bad people on whatever side people agree with.
It is not really though. I have not disowned a single person for their politics.
Neither have I. But you can't deny the tension between the left and right. We are becoming more and more of those two ideologies. And that sucks.

Because I literally don't see how it's even theoretically possible for greed and inequality to be separated from capitalism. Most capitalists I know admit that there will be inequality, and "that will make people more likely to work harder to make more money and better themselves."

So you are right, in that sense. Until I can conceive of a way that capitalism isn't inherently unequal, I stand against it and how it's implemented.

Nasty women.
Charlottesville had a right winger run his car into a crowd that killed a girl. And that girl was in a walking mall area (they were not blocking traffic). Same type of area my wife works.

Good Ol' Boys.
Uh, they were absolutely blocking traffic. What does where your wife works have to do with a group of professional protesters setting up a traffic barricade with their bodies?

Dude plowed into a crowd, obviously wrong, but let's not act like they were bystanders. It was protestors blocking an area. Did he ram them with premeditation or did he fear for his life? That is the only question.
It's a walking mall. No one was blocking anything. And regarding my wife, I should have been more clear. I've been in a walking mall a million times. Where he started and where he ended would be impossible without intent.

*Dude plowed into a crowd, obviously wrong ", but then you paint him as possibly being the victim. If that was your daughter, I think you would side with me. Or would you be sympathetic to the murderer? Conservatives are right, you don't need guns to kill! Hehe
My daughter would be working, not part of a liberal mob, so she would be fine.

Why were there cars in this "walking mall"?
Around the edges of it, they are allowed for parking etc. No one is cruising for chicks in these areas. Did he not go fast through the crowd? And did he not travel a decent distance? You would maybe have a point if they were blocking a freeway. This guys car was stopped. Then he ran his car through the crowd.
Here is the scene as captured from a drone above. Do you not see they are packed into an intersection, with cars around trying to get through? You can even see a car in the midst of turning around in the middle of the road because they were blocking it, just as the incident occurred.
So that's a walking mall, huh? Looks like regular roads with intersections and the whole nine to me.

Socialism isn't a welfare state, it's for the "working class." I can't really help it if capitalists, specifically conservative capitalists (though liberal capitalists aren't much better) remain ignorant. I just know that the longer they do, the more that people will suffer, and the less hope there is for everyone.

Agreed. Antifa and White Nationalists converged, and that is the result.
Antifa generally aren't racist, though. Very few on the far left are racist. Sorry to burst your bubble.

capitalism is for the working class as well, in theory. point me to a country or region where socialism has existed in the long term (say over 50 years at least) in the way that you want it to be in america?

i guess it depends on what you mean by income inequality. if you mean that people can work to improve their situation above others in the same field is inequality, then yeah i guess it is not possible for that to exist in capitalism.
