Really liked this one, but lost me a little at the end (but nothing on the level of Mother). Was shocked to find it's budget was just a million considering how *good* it looked and the actors knew what they were doing.

I love seeing Javier Botet continuing to get skinny-monster work too. 100% better than CGI.

Saw The Banana Splits Movie - enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

Midsommar was pretty good, though like Hereditary: long in the tooth to get to the point it wants to make.

I do quite like it’s long-in-the-tooth’edness. But then again it’s not every day people make a documentary about my country.

I think once they get there it's pace is fine, but it didn't need to take so long to get there. Could've easily shaved another 15 minutes or so off.

Also...

*****************SPOILERS*******************

Would've been interesting if Dani's family didn't die by her sister's mass suicide, but if Pelle actually murdered them to help lure her. I was actually kind of expecting that as a cool twist that popped in my head. I'm not downgrading the moving because they didn't go that route (that would be hypocritical of me defending other movies not doing what fan theories expect).

That would be pretty epic in fairness.

Waxwork. I once waited in a video store for 6 hours hoping someone would return a copy so I could rent it.
