Yeah. A couple months ago in Santa Ana, about an hour from me, a dude was robbing a local fast food restaurant and someone at the drive thru window pulled his gun out and shot the robber from the window, then fled the scene. Everyone in the youtube comments section is asking why the dude left. Well, it's because this is California, and the dude that perhaps saved the cashier's life would've went to prison. Robber probably would've sued, too.

I’m confused, am I meant to cheer for the store owner who punches a lady when her kid took something unbeknownst to her, after he gets aggressive? Is that the takeaway here?

- mom is confronted by store as she walks outside
- mom THROWS stolen merchandise back into store
- store owner walks outside to confront mom
- mom strikes store owner
- within a split second, store owner responds to strike with one of his own and walks away

It seems to me the victim is the lady who got punched in the face. The culprit is the man who punched someone for their child stealing a Knick-knack and the police seem to agree with my interpretation since the man is in trouble and the woman is not.

The lady who gets punched by a store owner.

The store owner should not punch people. In truth he probably doesn’t need to emerge from the store once the merchandise is returned. He definitely shouldn’t confront them. So a child makes an honest mistake, a mom returns it hastily. That should be the end of the story. Could she have apologized more profusely and handed it back nicely, 100%. Throwing it in is a dick move that shows a lack of remorse. But that’s as far as that goes. Everything after that is all in the store owner.
