Weird Horror Wednesday

No televised award for cinematography or editing The Oscars have become just sad and pathetic. Plenty of time set aside for political sermons though so it's more a really long star studded episode of The View.

They're trying to cut it short to get people to watch. Do they really not know why so many people won't bother?

It's become a tiresome PC circle jerk I have no interest in watching. The next days PC outrage that Black Panther didn't win every award will be more entertaining than the actual awards show

I used to LOVE watching them. Seeing who wins, the outfits, the weird and sometimes funny moments. I won't even turn it on now.

Yeah, fuck the two most important craft categories that make cinema CINEMA. I hope they backtrack on this decision. I've never had an issue with the run time unless the show was dull (like, I don't know, a whole set of films no one gives a shit being nominated, like the year The Artist was the big winner)

I read that as poo shot. My WTF face was pretty quick to show up. Didn't remember that in the commercials.

His slow talking in those ads drives me bonkers. Just put him in Dazed and Confused gear, hang his head out the window like a dog while saying "Alright, Alright, Alright" and I might buy one. Sheesh!

It's not just the politics in the acceptance speeches, it's also the movies that get nominated. Can you see Braveheart or Gladiator even making the list, nevermind winning, in this day and age? I can't. Not nearly preachy enough. And what about Black Panther? I thought it was a decent action movie, but did ANYONE watching it think best picture? Of course not. We all know why it was nominated and it had nothing to do with being a good movie. Oscars are a joke.

are the oscars not still the most viewed television? it may have lost viewers, but as far as i know it still comes up above anything else, even game of thrones and the like?

Black Panther was a good movie that's it, we know it and they know it but this super PC culture controls everything now so merit is secondary to pleasing the liberal masses

I, too, get tired of hearing about politics at award shows like the Oscars. I haven't watched any of them in years.
