Sewer of Baltimore News -

The Baltimore Sun
A barrage of evening gunfire that wounded four men and killed an additional man in West Baltimore accounted for less than half the city’s shooting victims Thursday, the most violent day of acting Police Commissioner Michael Harrison’s short tenure.

In all, 12 people were shot — four fatally — in a series of seven shootings that started in the morning and lasted into the night.

The five shot in Thursday evening’s quintuple shooting, which occurred just as Harrison and other law enforcement leaders in the city were preparing for a community meet-and-greet in North Baltimore, ranged in ages from 19 to 46, with a 26-year-old man among them suffering the fatal injuries, police said.

The other three fatal victims — a 20-year-old man found dead in a car, a 27-year-old man declared dead at a hospital and another man found in Hamilton Hills — were shot in three incidents throughout the day, police said.

Why does this not count as a mass shooting? Is it because Baltimore would have 20 a year by itself? This will be news until Fridays tallies come in.

It sounds like it should be deemed a mass shooting and should be newsworthy. Crazy stuff

Inner city crime in the U.S. has a dehumanizing effect. Basically treated like quarantined communities with no effect on what happens outside them. It is crazy.

Certainly sounds weird to consider it all that different from other gun crime. Should be looked st and efforts should be made to fix it.

If you acknowledge it than people will expect you to address it so they just never acknowledge it not meaningfully anyway.

That sounds unacceptable to me.

Hoping to watch Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) today. Only saw it once before, but I remember it being pretty good.

I like it. Though there is an issue with the singing when you’ve seen a real version.

So, interesting take, but here you go: I like the songs in Sweeney Todd more than those in Repo! The Genetic Opera (I compare the two because they're basically the only two horror musicals anyone knows), but I think the songs in Repo! are quite a bit more memorable than Sweeney Todd.

Still, gave the film an 8/10. Solid rewatch.

I'm just used to putting my reviews in the Recently Watched Movies, but I'd be glad to put them somewhere where they may not get buried so quickly.

This said, which thread exactly are you talking about? Either I'm not seeing it or I'm missing something. :P
