I'll submit a mini review on it when I get off work.

You saw it too? How do y'all afford to go see movies? Lol. Although, we do have a movie theater that is about 30 minutes from me. Tickets are like $4. The big popcorn is like $2. The big soda is like $2.50. I need to go there more often. It's worth the drive.

In his area though...that's going to be extremely tough to find. I've been through there.

Shit, I wish there was one around here with costs like that. I found one near that cheap, went to it once. Went for a second time, it got bought and "upgraded" to normal prices.

Haven't gone to the movies since the new Godzilla, it's been a few weeks. I want to see Toy Story 4, but gotta wait till I have money. Pretty sure it'll still be in theatres next week :P

That’s a shame. Not s thing I’d know about admittedly. London, infinite jobs of varying descriptions.

My area's pretty crap too, mostly known as a "sleeper city" so if you don't have a vehicle to find, you're pretty screwed, and even more screwed because they jack the cost of living up because they assume everyone works in LA. But it's more than what his area has.

D is right. I'd have to essentially relocate or commute 100 miles every day. There is next to nothing as far as "white collar" near me. Closest thing is working at a desk at the DMV or something. :p

Big time. I figure I need at least a few grand just to up and move across town. Secures the last month rent of where you're currently at, the first month's rent your going to, the deposit which costs as much as the first month's rent for the new place, moving van rental, cleaning of the old place, and depending on the new place's ridiculous demands, the last month's rent of the new place too. California sucks balls.

I've peeked at other states, and forgot how much less they demand for deposits to rent. However that'll still require a lot to move out of state, because of distance, plus the unknown aspect of not having job security when I get there (either A I magically get a job that helps me move there - the dreamy best case scenario that with my luck will never happen, B - I'm hired and have to move out of my own pocket, or C - move there and hope for the best finding something, which could take months and months of job hunting and rejections before I find I have to start again at minimum wage that never improves and gets worse and worse as the years go by because of constant inflation)

I used to drive 60 miles a day for a good job. Save some money, get an apartment, and move halfway there!

I feel like a dick saying that though, because I live only 5 minutes from my work. Lol

That's the bitch about moving. It takes a lot of money, which sucks when you're living paycheck to paycheck. In my area, you can find some nice places and landlords that would look the other way when it comes to a deposit if they like you. It's hard though. I feel for you guys.

I am about five minutes from my work, too. And if I'm going through the effort of moving, it's to Colorado.

Unless of course you have family that can help you transition from one place to another, even if it's a few months :P

Unfortunately for me, that family that did help with that moved to Alaska to be near my parents, so I'm left down here, stranded lol.

I do think about the idea of going back to AK, knowing I likely have a place to squat till I find something...but my parents are out in Wasilla, which is pretty bare bones and far away from a real city. I'd be basically stuck in Jason's shoes out there, but instead of heat it'll be cold (so still better lol)

Yeah. Last I remembered, Hesperia/Apple Valley was a dirt wasteland. Basically, The Hills Have Eyes plus some homes and commercial streets added :P

The reason I'm more concerned with the job security thing with moving is the massive student loans I have. If I didn't have that debt, I'd actually be more comfortable taking a lesser wage job. Well, not that much "comfortable" but it'll be easier.

Hope this writing project goes somewhere though. Finally almost done with the rough draft of the second book so I can jump back and edit the first for a 3rd draft. Then I can start querying it.

Is Ali stuck too because of family? Would she make the move with ya? That's tough bro.

A friend of mine said that the cold in Alaska isn't that bad. It's different than say, Ohio when it gets cold. Probably because of humidity. He lived in Juneau though. Which is by the oceanm
