It's Friday
wouldn't mind more of these updates before you get the list fully figured out. i think it's pretty interesting.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Was originally just going to be 25, then became 50, then 100. Stopping the list at 100. Main criteria: gotta have 3 items/episodes on the resume that has greatly entertained and/or influenced me. Stipulation: if there are multiple sequel movies, the franchise/sequel is represented by my favorite of the bunch.
One thing I noticed, just less than 20% of the list are women. I'm still brainstorming and organizing, but that seemed unbalanced to me right out of the gate, but if I can't think of more to fill the list and knocking others off, that's what it is. Not going to force it to accomidate.
Could be a little while. Now I'm just sitting on a batch of 100 that I had edited down and debating on the order.zombie wrote:wouldn't mind more of these updates before you get the list fully figured out. i think it's pretty interesting.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Was originally just going to be 25, then became 50, then 100. was your 100 always solidified or did you swap some out for others, along the way? would be interest to see what your rough drafts looked like a little bit. but obviously that has to come after the list is posted too, if at all. cause it could spoil the thing, if it's shown sooner.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Could be a little while. Originally I've just piled a bunch of people/bands/shows into a group until I had well over a hundred, then just sort of sorted them into a vague ranking. I'm also trying to let my mind think if I'm forgetting about anybody, which happens o' plenty.zombie wrote:was your 100 always solidified or did you swap some out for others, along the way? would be interest to see what your rough drafts looked like a little bit. but obviously that has to come after the list is posted too, if at all. cause it could spoil the thing, if it's shown sooner.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Could be a little while. I've included comic book artists and novelists. Now that you mention video games, i can probably brainstorm some of that too, highlighting which sequels in VG franchises and such...zombie wrote:you said it includes all different mediums. does that include like comic book artists or novelists/poets, video game creators etc or is it more focused on like musicians, filmmakers, actors?
I'd lump VG fanchises as a whole rank, with mentioning specific sequels (like Mega Man 2 and 3) as the reason it's in position, or like Metroid series with Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. I guess like how I'd treat a TV series, then reference specific episodes.Reign in Blood wrote:Good call on video games. If I were to concoct a list, I'd likely forget that too and Mega Man 2 would have to be like top 20 just on number of hours of domination alone.

I am totally comfortable with spiders. So this does nothing, squeamish-wise. But I can't help but wonder how many turds that spider dropped in her mouth.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:A wizard (or witch) and their familiar!
