Really good read on the problem with incoherent US foreign policy. It's helping empower a bigger conflict.

I don't think you can deny that Tillerson is not in the sane image as Trump or Kushner.

Good I hope not, I don't really know anything about Kushner except his name reminds me of good weed.

It's pretty important for the Defence Secretary and the Secretary of State to be on the same page as Washington. To be honest, the Qatar thing, and the Trump tweet saying they are mass-sponsors of terrorists, wreaks of an uninformed guy going with talking points handed to him by a moron. Qatar are no saints, but they're a damn sight better than the Saudis when it comes to helping the US fight terror in the middle east, and they're a significant bulwark against Russia and Iran as an ally. Losing that would be a disaster for the region. Which makes it all the more amateurish that Trump and Kushner are making these kind of mistakes, and a shame that Mad Dog and T-Rex have to spend so much time yanking the iron out of the flames.

Seems like Mad Dog and T-Rex are good at their jobs

I had reservations about T-Rex, but he's honestly doing a pretty good job in the circumstances given to him. The issue with T-Rex is not his pronouncements or his stances at this point, it's his lack of staff and downsizing of the State Department which has neutralized a lot of the good that they do. But he's definitely not the worst. Mattis seems a steady pair of hands as well, so far Mad Dog and T-Rex get a solid 3 carcasses out of 5. :)
