Glad to see not everyone has lost their shit here.

I went to the store yesterday and the place was highly picked over. Way worse than I've ever seen in an Alabama snowstorm. It's weird. I was able to get some stuff that will last like pasta and oats. I already keep a steady supply of rice and canned and dried beans of different types. I saw someone go through the line with like 12 heads of iceberg lettuce. What can one 20-something year old do with 12 heads of lettuce? Funny thing is a store I go to had a sale going on last week to get a $25 gift card with a $100 purchase of some goods, had coupons for them and they don't go bad, so I bought a hundred bucks worth of tp and paper towels. Had no idea how important that would be just a few days later. I also got myself an aloe plant I've been wanting for a while last month. That may prove to be useful considering I keep 91% alcohol on hand because I'm a walking accident. I don't imagine having to use either one, but hey, it's nice to have the stuff without meaning to have it.

I'm still taking the week off of work like I do every year, but now I don't have to come up with excuses for why I don't want to go and visit anyone during my time off and I actually get to stay the fuck home without anyone trying to guilt me about it.

I feel like I've been accidentally preparing for this just by being myself.

I forgot to mention, someone should probably lock Jason indoors until this blows over, without his spleen he's likely to have a very hard time if he gets this.

Would've dropped in sooner but my dog died (He had a mass behind his eye that was destroying his jaw, eye and skull so we had to put him down, which I hate.) and I didn't want to be around people, even internet people. Even making myself go to work was hard. I have to say though, that if anyone has pups and order food/toys/meds use Chewy if you can. I let them know what happened and they sent a card, flowers, and refunded my last three orders, which was nearly $300 in food and supplies. (I donated the food to my vet's office and they are going to divide it up between a few of their elderly fixed income clients that have dogs on the same prescription.) It's been sucky not having him around, but I'm kinda glad too because we'd still have to walk him and my mother-in-law is one of the ones at high risk of mortality if she gets this virus. Going outside less means less exposure and risk to her.

Please do the right thing and ignore this post and don't acknowledge the events in it in any way because I still don't want to deal with it emotionally, thank you.

Now, a question of etiquette: if I'm gonna be working from home, doing it up in my skivvies all day, is 'Do Not Disturb' the proper Skype status? *needs the pondering taps-finger-on-chin smiley*

I made my colleagues chuckle on this same topic. They said suit up top and tracksuit bottoms. So I said “lucky if I’ve got anything at all”

Most amusing.

Guess there’s a positive in that your gigs get the required homies at least.

Ok. WFH mandated. No more office goings for this guy. For the foreseeable future.

While it's been fun watching my stocks plummet, I just realized my 401k is doing the same. I should have cashed it out when I moved, but thought I'd roll it over to the new job. Now it's been trashed. Bit of a bummer, really.

Yeah, it's time like this that I'm glad I never got addicted to stocks and shiz.

A hoax?! Fucking elaborate if it is. Global pandemic seems a hard hoax to manufacture.

The current suppressive strategy according to researchers may need to be 18 months long. Fuck you COVID-19

18 months with no public gatherings? that's pretty dire.

Could be 18 months of general social exclusion and lockdown if we are unlucky.

I dont either. I definitely don’t have 18 months worth of bog roll.
