i think you have it backwards, but cool story.Foo wrote:Attention seeking is 80% of the LGBTQ lifestyle. God bless the minority who were born that way and want to live a quiet life like normal citizens. They are the heroes of the gay community.
Not hard to see in daily life. With Facebook and just exposure to a lot of people in general. Remember, I literally see thousands of people a week because of events.Headhunter wrote:Not sure how you've determined what the minority and majority are other than through media exposure.
They would ruin it by insisting it was vegan and 100% organic. As if the corn fed beef is gonna kill them before HIV does...Jason wrote:Let's throw an LGBTBBQ
i still think it's a minority. but keep in mind that heterosexuals have always been accepted, and there are still those that feel the need to overcompensate or put it on display or whatever. there are still those that make their whole persona about being macho. it will balance out.Foo wrote:Not hard to see in daily life. You see gays who are people who just happen to like those of the same sex, but you see a lot of people who try to be "Captain Swishy, the most flamboyant butt pirate in every room he walks into!".
For me personally, it is not a double standard either, as it would be equally as off putting if someone was constantly announcing their heterosexuality, doing every macho man stereotype, putting on a phony voice, and dressing like they just completed an underground cage fighting tournament while on safari.
So when rednecks from the north fly their rebel flags, it isn't attention seeking? Or all their liberal hating bumper stickers?Foo wrote:Attention seeking is 80% of the LGBTQ lifestyle. When a minor part of your character defines you, whether it be where you are from, your sexuality, your race, etc., it is super annoying.Jmac Attack wrote:So when rednecks from the north fly their rebel flags, it isn't attention seeking? if you want people to stop focusing on whatever surface thing as their defining trait, then you have to stop using that to define them as well.Foo wrote:When a minor part of your character defines you, whether it be where you are from, your sexuality, your race, etc., it is super annoying.Jmac Attack wrote:So when rednecks from the north fly their rebel flags, it isn't attention seeking?
