Re: 7/29/Plagueland
I would've slept better if I didn't have to wake up for work

Probably belongs in the music fiend thread. However, we all know and dig Brian Johnson from ACDC. Whoah. Its disco-y. During the chorus you can kind of tell its him. But I wouldn't know right away lol unless you told me.

I went to sleep pretty early, like 9 or 10, then woke up at 2, was pretty much up the rest of the night.

Re: 7/29/Plagueland
Got a 5th rejection letter today, from the very first agent I sent to lol. At least it looked like he read it, and said it sounds like something he'd be interested in, but not enough for him to back it. One key thing he said though is: feel free to send to other agents at this company.
This is big to me because I felt like sending to him was a mistake (he was first on the list, randomly), because on a different site with his info, he mentions he's not interested in anything involving werewolves, vampires or demons (and I've got all three) but I didn't notice that before I sent to him. It's encouraging that in spite of that, he sounded at least interested in the book. Also, there was another agent that sounded like an excellent fit for me...but she worked at the same company. Agents don't like you sending to multiple agents in the same company, it gets you an auto-rejection. So getting his blessing to send to another is pretty cool.

Good deal. Hopefully the other agent likes it and doesn't take ages to respond.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Got a 5th rejection letter today, from the very first agent I sent to lol. Almost all of them require 5+ weeks to respond. :/Slaughterhouserock wrote:Good deal. I'm taking stepping stones for self publishing though, it's been a long enough wait already. I have an editor looking at a sample so she can give me an estimate too.

Man! Sorry about the rejection, hon. HEY! I just looked it up, and saw that J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter was rejected 12 times---Stephen King's Carrie a whopping 30!! You got this, D...just hang in there! Good luck with the next agent!!DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Got a 5th rejection letter today, from the very first agent I sent to lol. Dae sleeps like old people now, I see... j/k lolDAEBO wrote:I went to sleep pretty early, like 9 or 10, then woke up at 2, was pretty much up the rest of the night.
Seriously, though, seems like everyone I talk to lately says they are sleeping like shit. Probably some unnamed psychological by-product of world-wide 'rona stress or something...
I hope you get better sleep soon, hon!
