Damn.Melz wrote:Hey, guys. (Hi, Dae! I see you're on. )
This past Tuesday, we went without power most of the day, but no biggie. We were lucky--just a few miles up the street a small town was hit hard by a F-3 tornado, and another not too far away got a lot of damage from a F-2. *counting blessings here*
My beautiful Chihuahua, Buddy, is about to pass away. He's in stage 4 renal failure. Soooo, dealing with that. I'm thinking if he makes it to Sunday will be a miracle--he stopped eating altogether four days ago, and has only taken a tiny amount of water in two days, so we are close. He turned 13 this past April, and has had heart issues for awhile now, but sure doesn't make this any easier, does it? Man. I'm still in the I-can't-talk-about-it-without-getting-upset stage. *sighs*
Hope everyone else has had a better week then I. What's been going on?
I especially hate it because, 1 it sucks, and 2 my Chi is 12Melz wrote:Yeah. He's been with me for almost 10 years now, so this is biting ass REALLY hard right now. *hard exhale* I had the option to help him pass him on yesterday, but the vet promised me he wasn't in pain--(and he doesn't seem to be)--but I almost wish I had now. It is SOOOO fucking hard to watch him going through the process of dying. I'm glad to have the time with him, but it...is....hard.
Oh no! Who else? :cry:DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Too many pets taking their last laps right now
Awww, you have a Chi-wow-wow, Dae? I didn't know that. Don't stress it, hon--BUT, keep an eye on possible heart issues. Tends to be common in Chi-s from what I understand. This kidney stuff came out of the blue, and the vet said most probably has been in the works for months or even years. Buddy has been on fluid pills (part of his heart pill regimen) for awhile now, and I completely missed his drinking more water and peeing more as a sign something was wrong with his kidneys. I saw it, but thought it was due to his pills. Didn't realize something was wrong till he stopped eating and started having accidents in the house.DAEBO wrote:I especially hate it because, 1 it sucks, and 2 my Chi is 12Melz wrote:Yeah. I got him from a co-woker 2 weeks after he was born. He'd cry at night like a real baby and I had to fees him warm goat's milk and crushed dog food. He's been my baby and shadow for 12 years. I never needed a leash. He just follows me. We're pretty attached.Melz wrote:Awww, you have a Chi-wow-wow, Dae? I didn't know that. Don't stress it, hon--BUT, keep an eye on possible heart issues.
