I used to be a broker, can confirm. People enjoy the gambling high of buying and selling individual stocks but the way to go if you’re casually investing is mutual funds. You don’t have to do anything and your money will grow.

I have stocks, but they're mostly just sitting there collecting dividends. It's only slightly better than a savings account unless you have tons of cash to put in. I did the buying/selling thing when I started and made some decent money, but it was a pain in the ass.

I do wish I got in on this meme stock shit, though. Could've made over $40k by now with just a hundred shares. According to the reddit this started from, they're pushing for over $1k by friday. Fucking ridiculous.

I doubt we’ll see anything to the degree of GME, but it sounds like AMC and Nokia are the next stocks Reddit will try to send to the moon.

I’m still angry at myself for selling all my Bitcoin in 2016. At the time I was using it for gambling and didn’t really know what the hell I was doing.

On that note, I suspect recent events make it a decent time to put a little back into Bitcoin...
