I like Lili Taylor as the mom in The Conjuring. Not sure I'm going to like her as a Sawyer.

Nothing about that trailer is getting my motor running.

Would be nice if they gave a reason to see it. I feel like they are making sausage by pulling old sausage out of the casing, regrinding it and stuffing it into a new casing.

I can't think of another franchise where they have reset it more often while offering nothing anyone is interested in to further it.

Even the trailer fell victim to what I was talking about before with modern movies."Too cinematic". Not the approach you want if you're making a TCM movie.
And again with the weird lullaby songs that are sung by little girls in horror movies/trailers.

Gonna be a typical yawnfest, I gather. Can't wait for the super loud, 90-man orchestra when Leatherface is chasing the little kiddies around.

They get so caught up on Leatherface. Leatherface is the ultimate example of less is more. Some stories that would be better:

- Drayton Sawyer and Grandpa prequel
- Drayton on the competition chili circuit
- Nubbins hitchhiking adventures
- Choptop Vietnam stories

I think it's just run its course. Hollywood today has shown it is incapable of making a competent horror remake at least 95% of the time.

Not expecting greatness. Some good, mindless fun is the best I can hope for.

Get rid of that fucking song, how annoying.

I'd like to think the french dudes who did Inside and Livid could do something interesting here. Not seeing it in that trailer, but it will be fucking gory, that's for sure.
