Use JDownloader. Just copy a link and it'll load into JD. From there, just choose what part of the link you want to download. For example, when copying a youtube link, it will load the video(can select resolution), an audio track(can select between M4A, AAC, and OOG formats), and other shit that you will never download(e.g. subtitles). Almost all downloads are resumable(i.e. you can close the program mid-download and start it up later without having to restart the download), and can be used for anything.
