I no longer care about awards shows and can't watch them anymore but I was still glad to hear Colin Farrell won a Golden Globe for The Banshees of Inisherin.

"Where do you see yourself next Thursday?"
"Where do you see yourself March 9th?"
"Where do you see yourself June 11th 2024?"
Etc....

Finishing up watching the Willow series. While I have liked the latter episodes so far, I'm still nitpicking things that I simply say "what I would've done better" and now I'm thinking that's how I should sprinkle that shit in my own fantasy concepts lol.

The pilot still blew.

One thing I'd change is drop Sorsha's daughter's girlfriend altogether. She adds nothing. You can keep sorsha's daughter a lesbian, but put her in the closet because while this is fantasy...let's face it it's also kinda dark ages, so odds would be low she'd keep her gayness a secret. Her character development as the story goes would be her coming out of said closet, becoming comfortable with her wants, needs, and desires, and being herself. The boost of confidence could be from the lesbian lumberjacks she finds (who I thought were a great, wtf, addition...they gave me serious Pepperment Patty/Marcy vibes). This closet-ness would give the arranged marriage better friction. She could even be crushing on Elora, who is in a relationship with her brother (bam! there's your love triangle).

But her actual GF on the show: adds nothing. She reeks of tokenism across the board.

The music is too modern (and uses awful hiphop in this particular episode...for what fucking reason?) in many spots. Uneven, all over the place. I love James Newton Howard, but I feel like his grandaughter probably snuck into his playlist.

Well, there's a lot of "too modern" dialogue/jokes too. It's a very mixed show. There's things I like, then there's things that just irk me.

I do like the Borman character. I have very little complaints about him.

Finished the finale. Yeah I'll say I lean on the positive scale but have definitely nitpicks. I"m surprised taking a peek around and seeing how well received it's been. Some forums are absolutely glowing, and I'm here barely holding onto "mixed-positive".

Dark Elora...fuck'n hawt.

I just finished it. It's like they were making it for modern kids/teens, even though it's a sequel to an '88 film that most of them have probably never seen. That's my major complaint with the show as a whole. The music is ass, too. It just doesn't work with the setting. The first episode was by far the worst, but I didn't care for a few of the episodes(not good considering there's only eight). The one in the woods with the cannibal(?) people was pointless. The one with the trolls was ok, but what they did with the trolls was dumb. In the film, they were just crazy, ape-like, dudes that could crawl around on walls. Now they're just hairy underground slave-drivers. If you can ignore all the bullshit, it's ok at best.

The good. Warwick Davis, of course. Borman was alright, but sometimes a bit much. Uh, there was some character growth, I guess. A quick shot of Eborsisk at the end was cool. That's all I got.
