I wonder if or how the writer/actors strike could affect conventions.

I don't see why it should. Conventions are generally run by independent entities outside of hollywood, so are not part of their "job".

Yeah I guess its a self promotion thing. Probably couldn't promote any future films or shows during panels though

I could see not doing anything new to support the strike, but for stuff that's coming out right now that's already made, you need promotion, seems stupid to shoot your movie in the foot. Didn't spend all that time making it for it to be worthless just because everyone is crying about AI and you decided to let streamers run roughshod.

I think the Studios asked for a 10 day negotiation extension just to have time to flood the earth with Barbie and Oppenheimer marketing

can't make anything without the writers and the actors. just pay them their fair wages. or make longer seasons/more seasons the way it had been for television. i'd be down with that. just stop being cheapskate studio executive money grubbers! :P

Residuals are more tricky with streaming, especially when ad revenue is only sometimes there. And I'm sorry, if a computer AI can write a better script then you, go fuck yourselves, you're just cranking out the same superhero shit anyways. Maybe if you made better original shit.
