It's Friday and stuff
Is it any fun? I know it's not gonna be Dark Knight or Inception, but I'd never see JFK in cinemas either, 3 hours of this, umm.Headhunter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 12:25 pm Oppenheimer: wooooooow. Going back for a rewatch soon but I think it’s Nolan’s best. Feels like this generation’s JFK. I think it helps to have some background on The Manhattan Project and the scientists involved, it throws a lot of history and science at you. A
Yeah I wouldn’t describe it as “fun”. Lot of smart guys in rooms talking. It does move fast though in the way all Nolan movies do, jumping from scene to scene to scene. But yeah it’s not a blockbuster. The visual and audio stuff in IMAX is pretty incredible though.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 1:34 pmIs it any fun? Definitely not his most conventionally entertaining or fun but i think it could go down as his crowning achievement.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 7:54 pmDamn, that's high praise.Headhunter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 12:25 pm Barbie: very funny and clever, I enjoyed it, solid B+

Oscar nominations for Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Robert Downey Jr are pretty much locks in my mind too.

Not even the US senator for the state, but our local state senator.
So, it turns out that one of our residents used to work for JFK when he was a senator (and she worked for Henry Kissinger and Karl Rove apparently. She absolutely hates Karl Rove, lol.) and our local senator got wind of it and wants to meet her. My boss set it up with the hopes of getting an eye on our place and some local coverage for free publicity, lol. I have to go to take pictures and help my boss.
