I'm not, it's been dwindling for years now. And this year is a special slap in the face that horror moved out of the way for a Friday the 13th release date, just so Taylor fucking Swift can have her concert release on a "13". Oye.

Don't be surprised when theaters close down and they go extinct like Blockbuster. Because it will happen, and very soon. Best Buy has also announced that they're getting rid of all physical media by 2024. Why get off your fat lazy ass and rent a movie or go to a theater when the streaming services you're paying for have it? This is pretty much the consequence of convenience. Everyone chose convenience and now convenience is taking over. You're at the mercy of what they want to show you, when they want to show it to you. They're editing movies too and taking out "offensive content", so now there's no guarantee the classics you love will ever be the same. Owning your own movies and watching anything you want has rapidly become a thing of the past. Streaming has basically become the death of fun in the movie world and everyone ate it up.

I'm just saying take a film like Last Voyage of the Demeter. I would have to believe it would make substantially more money being released in October instead of August. Studios must know this as well so why not wait

I am a one man army, unfortunately. The companies are all in lockstep unison with the powers that be to censor or cancel certain movies. Nobody cares what the public wants. Streaming is already a lost cause. It's not like they have specific movies they want canceled right now. It's whatever movies the powers that be choose to cancel or censor. They've already done it to The French Connection. Streaming services themselves aren't the ones making the decisions. Smaller entities behind the scenes who control the streaming services are the ones making the decisions. If one or two streaming services deviate from the path and push back, they won't get any more favorable treatment. I would be more upset if we lived in an era where films were generally good, but they mostly suck so I'm pretty much fine with not being able to buy newer movies. The only one I miss right now that I can't own is The Barbarian. Eat wieners, Disney. Guess I'll buy a bootleg. You can't really cancel those. :p

I'd love to believe I'm just blackpilled. Hopefully that's the case, but things technically seemed to change for the worse in certain areas. I'm not a fan of streaming in general. Even if it is the case that they're simply competing in the market against each other and there isn't some agenda behind the scenes, going out to the theater or the rental stores to see movies is becoming a thing of the past as society becomes more reclusive and engulfed in social media. Tik tok is killing everyone's attention span. I saw it in theaters. Liked it quite well. Realized a few months ago I never picked it up on blu ray and wondered why I never saw it anywhere. Did a little digging and now I hate Disney. :p

Started The Last Castle (2001) on HBO Max.
Never heard of this movie before, and I'm only about 40 minutes in, but I have to say that it's damn good so far. Had no idea Mark Ruffalo was in it when I started, so that was an added surprise. Look forward to finishing it up later this month when I have time.

they also just released a 100 movie blu-ray set, after public outcry. studios will go where the market and public pressure pushes them. you have the power, jason!
