Worked fourteen hours friday, twelve hours saturday, and eight hours today. No breaks. Got sick on friday, most likely from exhaustion. Tomorrow is likely to be another twelve or more hour day. I don't get a day off until friday. The only good side is that I should be making some stupid overtime. The usps week starts on saturday for some reason, so I'm already at twenty hours with four days to go.

The problem with driving jobs like ours is you're gonna have to go into overtime just to get your day's work done, so the system rigs it to where if you were to actually work a normal 40 hour work week, you're really not making shit and might as well be working a Walmart greeter job instead of busting your ass. You basically need 60 hours or more a week to make decent money. And I live in California so even decent money is almost impossible to achieve. I can't really speak for post office drivers since they're the federal government and probably get paid pretty well, but blue collar work in general just fucks over the workers to a degree white collar guys would probably never believe unless they've worked jobs like that.

For perspective, I have a 2 hour daily commute to and from work. I work 10-16 hours per day and sleep an average of 3-4 hours per night and have to work every other Saturday.
