Answering a question from yesterday I think the 70's were the best decade for music followed by the 90's. 80's are right there in the mix

Didn't they say Irreconcilable differences was the reason why? I guess 50 years is where they drew the line

I know Foo's argument that I could agree with was that is was the "Perfect Slasher", meaning it checks all the boxes of what one would like/expect in a prototype slasher, but not necessarily that it's the greatest ever.
a perfect encapsulation of slasher movie tropes rather than the perfect slasher, i can get more behind.

Is there such a thing as the perfect slasher film?

I don't think such a film could exist because it's subjective. I could list my slasher films or whatever and Friday 4 would certainly be on that list but there is no perfect slasher film in my opinion.

Seems more like money and bitterness. Bass player had to have back surgery, and I guess he can't get back on the road to tour as quick as the lead singer wound like to get that money, so singer was bitching a fit. Bass player said fuck it no more REO, fucker.

i'll agree to that, but discussion and debate is more fun than just saying it's all subjective, so who cares. :P

Precisely. Cronin said I'm taking it on the run without you, baby! But I guess legal rights and shiz, so they gotta kill the band instead, pity.

As I just told Z, in my opinion such a film cannot exist because everyone will not agree.

Is Part 4 missing a trope or element in which you love from a slasher?

It's the best F13 sequel but it's missing the one thing I love most about a Slasher film. The mystery of figuring out who is the killer. I love Jason Voorhees, he's my favorite of the 80's horror movie monsters. But this film is not even in my top 5 slashers because of that alone. The original F13 kept the mystery up until the final act and did it in a great way. I have always enjoyed the mystery and sadly so many films give it away too early.

But as I said earlier, it's subjective. Everyone's taste in films are different.
