Do you remember in Armageddon when the big guy was describing how his favorite food is "Haggis"? We have to make that for 300 people this month. :p Anyone have any extra sheep lungs or stomachs lying around?

I don't know enough about the character to judge, but it seems like this movie is avoiding most of the superhero movie tropes.

tropes are not what make a movie bad or good.
and spawn is pretty much like a demonic darkman, to my understanding. the way i read is kind of that he'll be a force killing criminals. and the main focus will be on the police reacting to him and what he's done.

I will write a superhero movie in less than 60 seconds. Ready. Set. Go!!!
Happy Life. Tragedy. Powers. "Hell Yeah!" Meets Villain. Doubts Powers. Discovery. Beat villain before he can get to/activate the glowing blue thingy. In between, bounce around like a video game sprite on crack with lasers and explosions to break up the narrative.

indeed. recognizing patterns in the fiction you watch is a handy talent.

Perhaps it is another superpower! Go ahead and film the three big action sequences and we will digitally insert me and film the formulaic plot in a few months.

sounds good to me. how it all comes together will determine the quality of the movie. not the rattling off of basic plot elements.

The comic always kinda did. At least how I remember it.

Not sure how I feel about him not speaking though...I know he was going for more of a monster-of-the-alleyways horror style than the usual comic book movie, but saying he doesn't say a word surprises me.

I love the potential. Could be the first true anti-hero superhero movie. I was kinda hoping the Punisher movies would go there, but they pussed out.
