I plan on watching it later today. Was it closer to the book than the original? I heard that's what they were going for.

Re: October Challenge 2022 Discussion Thread
So the new Hellraiser could be considered a remake/reboot or a sequel. I'm leaning towards sequel, as it's got fuckall to do with the book or the previous films, and most of the sequels are standalone stories like this. I thought it was pretty good. Much better than most of the sequels beyond 3. It fucks with the lore, but that's par for the course with the series, so I won't knock it for that. I dug the ending, too. Would've been better with Bradley, but the new Pinhead was fine, and one of the only things from the book that seems to have made into the film.

Heard they may have added some fantasy elements. No idea if that's true - I've been avoiding reviews. But curious as to what you think of it.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 8:01 pm A theater near me is showing Terrifier 2, so I'll be checking that out tonight. Only watched one movie today - a quality film known as Ghost Shark (2013) - so I'm behind by three movies, but I hope I can make that up within the next couple of days or so.

Re: October Challenge 2022 Discussion Thread
I wouldn't say they added any because the first movie has supernatural shit going on (though subtle), but I'd say it's kicked up a notch. Not in a bad way either, because it's built up rather than something out of nowhere. I did expect a fantasy twist like an episode of Tales from The Crypt with Harry Anderson, but that reveal is neither confirmed or denied so I guess that idea is still up in the airJigsaw wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 8:40 pmHeard they may have added some fantasy elements. I fucking dug it. The runtime didn't bother me either, which I was concerned with considering it's still a slasher, but Damien clearly let character development breathe thanks to the pandemic, and I think it turned out better with it.
Sienna is fuck'n fine, holy shit.

I also thought it was pretty cool that there was a little bit of a Bloody Disgusting chatting with the director and Art the Clown after the movie. Made the screening a little more special, even though my bladder was like "wrap it up!"

Twice-Told Tales potentially a new Vincent Price film for me. I will need to watch some of it to know for sure

About to start We're All Going to the World's Fair. Reaction seems mixed, and not sure at all what to expect based on the plot, but looking forward to it.
