I liked how that aliens actually seemed alien and not just humans in costumes. The way they moved and acted was great.showa58taro wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 4:55 pm So far I’ve seen two, one actually pretty his. One very mediocre. At least the good one was enjoyable. The novelty wore out pretty quick. It's splattery, but not much else.showa58taro wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 5:32 pmMy hope is that this forms part of the charm of it. Re: October Challenge 2023 Discussion Thread
Out of curiosity, I decided to see how well my phone holds up to watching netflix, since I spend almost 2 hours each way commuting. So I watched Viking Wolf this morning, and Please Don't Kill Me on the way home.
I'm happy I enjoyed both. I only noted Please Don't Kill Me for Ta-Ta's because she's got a cute set, but unless I have a really dry run this October I don't see her winning.

Agreed. They’ve also managed to really perfect the eerie “uncanny valley” movement that feels janky and weird. Plus clever creature designs. Was a fan!Slaughterhouserock wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 5:42 pmI liked how that aliens actually seemed alien and not just humans in costumes. I also watched Re/Member yesterday! That was a fun new watch, definitely more my thing. Bit creepy/gory but also just fun concept and not perky trying to jump scare you. The added bonus was that I enjoyed (very much) some of the mote practical looking effects. Because CGI can go rather wrong.

The people that made these films aren't clever enough for that. There's Things, then Things, then Things II. Don't ask me why, but there ya go.
