Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
I work tomorrow, but I believe I have both Tuesday and Wednesday (1st and 2nd of October) off, so I'm hoping for eight or so movies in that time to start off strong.

I was wrong - I actually do work Tuesday. No idea if I work Wednesday or not, but I'll find out tomorrow.
My dreams of starting at midnight are thrawted again. Should have saved up some money so I could have quit for the month.

my first movie is consecration. it's listed as horror but it's slowgoing so far. i hope it picks up and shows the horror before the end.
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
kanopy has a category listed as "cozy horror". cozy and horror should never go together!
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
starting late night with the devil. the 2020s are so full of religious-themed horror that it's like the 70s all over again.

Started up The Unnamable II: The Statement of Randolph Carter (1992) as my second movie. Only seen it once, and it's been a while, but I forgot how much fun it is.

Seated in the theater im sharing with 1 other person
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
I just got out of Substance. First watch of October. That movie was a fucking trip. A few glaring questions that go unanswered. Even if I didn't think it was good I would still recommend seeing it just for the craziness and the obvious nod to Re-Animator.
One thing that is confirmed is that Margaret Qualley is a fucking smoke show.

That movie must be seen for the Margaret Qualley hotness alone. Tigg will confirm once he exits the theater, mark my words.

I didn't think she was much of shit in Once Upon a Time but she is done some growings and evolving since. Revolutions as it were.
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
A special thread for Substance will have to be created with spoilers ahoy since Tigg will probably have some of the same questions I do.

Too young. I know she was of age but she still felt like a youngster to me. She's a smoke show in Substance.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 5:35 pm I didn't think she was much of shit in Once Upon a Time but she is done some growings and evolving since. Revolutions as it were.

I have to say, it may not be the type of movie for many here, but after watching I Saw the TV Glow for the second time, I find it quite the experience, and while not great in a traditional sense, certainly a very moving film at times, with stellar ideas strewn in.
