Still haven't seen that one. Definitely like the vibe it looks like it's going for, though.

It's fun, but for some reason no one was showing it for a couple years (and of course there's not hardcopy of it). But it's back up on Shudder!

Though the commercial segments are great...there are just too many of them. That's my biggest takeaway.

Said no one ever.
Yeah, that film got way too overzealous with it's ideas. I wish they delved more into the cursed TV route. Ended up turning into another Knives and Skin situation, but the musical interludes were instead swapped with am I gay or straight subtleties?

Night Game is shaping up to be a slow burn mystery-crime/horror-slasher flick. Not for everybody and not a super exciting movie (yet), but it has personality and it's right up my alley. I'm enjoying this.

Roy Scheider is a detective, currently surveiling late at night on a pier waiting to confront a guy, eating a donut or sandwich or something and drinking a coffee in his car, listening to a baseball game. I love this shit. This movie is not trying at all and I'm locked in. Lmao.

I really wasn't expecting so much of a rubber mask/gloves look to a flick this hyped, but I'm trying to get past the killer's really-really cheap look.

Some pretty damn good kills save it from just being mediocre.

While it was marketed as a horror film, I see it as purely a drama about someone questioning their identity. Had they gone the Candle Cove route, it would have been horror.

I went to bed thinking about The Substance and woke up thinking about The Substance. Disgusting and beautiful all at once. Cronenberg and Kubrick-ish but also unique. A+

And I can't find a showing near me that isn't late night (and no, this doesn't work for me anymore)
