Strap match was pretty dope, but Bash one of the weaker PLEs recently. Sure Bad Blood will make up for it.
Not WWE, but for AEW All In, MJF vs Osprey was excellent, both those guys should be in WWE. Got all the tools, and like Cody just on another level of wrestling fundamentals.
Agreed, it was the weakest so far. And I hope it's the last PLE in Europe for awhile.
As we've discussed before about Cody. He has great in ring ability, but his character is just fucking boring. His title run as been dull minus the good matches with AJ Styles and Solo. I'm hoping it's Randy that beats him for the title but it will probably be Rock. But who knows for sure.
I don't watch AEW, I have no idea who Osprey is but I am sorta familiar with MJF.
This might have been the most hyped I ever was during my wrestling fandom. This is probably the first time I've watched the promo since it aired 20+ years ago and it still lives in my head.
Still bitter about that, for WM 16 that I went to live, we got the lame ass fatal 4 way for the main event, following year they do a proper Austin vs Rock with the Vinny Mac swerve, pricks. I would have loved every second of that.
WM 2000 was a let down. WM 17 was the end of the Attitude Era. Austin turning heel, I never cared for it but it didn't ruin the event. One of the top five WrestleMania events.

I must have been 13 or so. I was fuckin' devastated when Austin turned heel because he was my dog in the fight and I felt so betrayed. LMAO. And then he beat the shit out of J.R. I think the next night on RAW and I was cooked. Felt like my puppy died or something. I didn't even watch the PPV until a couple years later when I found the VHS. I rarely got to see PPVs and tuned in to the fuzzed out channel just to try to listen to what was going on. I usually got my PPV results the following night when RAW opened.
Told ya, LA Knight not gonna keep his for long either. Got a crazy stacked roster and they starved most these guys for gold for years. Fun while it lasted, but lot of dogs looking to eat now.
Bron's my boy but I thought they put the title on him too soon anyhow, and Jey has been white hot and top 5 merch seller, they should have did him vs. Sami at SummerSlam. Could have did a couple months of face vs face series of matches before Survivor Series.

I agree they put the belt on Bron too early and he can easily be built back up. Jey deserves it yes but this wasn't the way to do it IMO. The stacked roster you mention goes into my argument (yet again) for them to split up the WWE and Universal titles. It's stupid for Cody (or Roman) to hold two World titles simultaneously, especially if their reign is going to last more than a year. The Universal title can be defended on any brand while the WWE and WHC stay specific to their designated brand.
And while we are on this topic, the women's division needs to mid card title for the same reason.
I thought the match was great! Definitely match of the night.
The rest of the card was good, nothing spectacular but good. The Rock's return was inevitable and is obviously going to build up to War Games. The question now is when does he face Cody Rhodes?
My prediction right now is that Rock beats Cody for the title either at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble. I think it will be at RR since Cody will probable team with Roman and Jimmy Uso at SS in War Games. Then Roman will beat Rock for the title at WM 41. It could happen differently but that's my call atm.
Don't get me wrong, it was a kick ass match, great ring psychology and end to the feud, I just don't like everybody saying it's the best Hell in a Cell when they only used the damn cell once. Look at it, why couldn't that have been a No DQ or Rules/Street Fight match? The cage then just obscures all of our views, I would be especially annoyed being a live audience member. Why do I gotta look through this massive cell or cage if you're gonna do jack shit with it? My gripe. Definitely match of the night. But this PLE overall was weakest of the year.
The Rock's return was annoying because the tag match sucked and only went on last for the Rock, everyone knows HiaC should've closed.
It looks like they are setting something up with KO and Cody again, after KO punk dogged him after the show. Since Cody is facing Gunther at Crown Jewel maybe they will be doing Cody vs KO vs Randy triple threat or summat at Survivor Series? For War Games, what makes the most sense to me is Rock, Roman, Jimmy and Jey vs. New Bloodline but Jey is on Raw enjoying new IC run and they would have to shore too many things up so wouldn't make sense. They have another cousin or some shit looming I guess though.
Not sure where they are going except we both agree, this run of Cody's pretty much sucks.

Mankind vs Taker is the best HIAC match ever! Not sure who said this recent one is but they obviously are Gen Z lol.
Cody vs. KO already happened so this storyline is just BS. My guess is Cody will defend on Smackdown and beat KO, ending that dumb shit before it begins. Rock competing in War Games? doubt it! He won't risk the injury and we are LONG OVERDUE for Rock vs. Roman at WM! The only way Rock appears at War Games is to cost Roman and his team the match. Revealing himself to be the mastermind behind the new Bloodline (which is what I have suspected all along). But as you said, this could go multiple directions.
Cody's run has sucked as we both anticipated and it's pretty obvious now that Roman is still the face of WWE and will hold that spot for years to come. Cody is a flash in the pan, his momentum is already starting to fade and the longer his vanilla babyface character continues the more the fans will tire of him. Personally if I was Triple H, I would book Roman to beat Cody clean, proving his win at WM 40 was a fluke and move on from this shit. But Trips has his head up Cody's ass and until that changes we will continue to endure this boring run.
I doubt Rock will wrestle at SS too but it makes sense of old vs. new. I can see Rock coming out to cost Roman the match, but he's probably only gonna wrestle at Mania, which is a ways. Thing is, they don't need a strap to sell Rock vs. Roman.
KO vs Cody could be just a Smackdown feud. Weird thing with that, KO is in the right, he's the face in this philosophically at least.
Trips loves Cody, but like you want as well, you got to let a guy have the title for a little while, see if it develops. Cody's just gonna Cody, though.
I was always an Austin guy. And then I started really coming around to The Rock shortly before he abandoned the industry for blockbuster movies and then I just went sour on him for good. He came back once or twice and made me think he was really back for good only to dip for another couple years and make an occasional cameo.
2nd tier hall of famer for me. Can't mention him with the greats when he is a part time guy.
Does Austin's time in WCW and ECW really matter to you? The Rock was active in WWE for longer than Austin. Austin left for acting too, but quit the company prior as well.

Might just be a timing thing, to me. And when I say I was an Austin guy, I just mean I preferred him over The Rock during both their reigns as the biggest stars of the company. Kurt Angle was my favorite wrestler of all time during my time as a wrestling fan. And now as I look back I think my favorite was still possibly Kurt but also the nWo with Nash and Hall in WCW.
I have never liked The Rock, he’s a jackass in RL and he was always the B tier guy next to the greats. Austin was the face of WWE in the Attitude Era, Rock was never the guy. He spent 5 years in the industry and then bounced. Austin was active in the industry for much longer.
Crown Jewel was alright but predictable in many ways. Cody remains untouchable, the whole thing with Stratton and Nia is getting boring. It's obvious she plans to cash in on Nia. Jade & Bianca remain stuck in the tag team division. Solo pinning Roman to win the tag match was the only surprise. I honestly hope the bloodline story is brought to an end in the coming months. It's been a great ride but it needs a formal end or risk going the way the NWO did in WCW.
Reign- I think at this point Cody will carry the WWE title into WrestleMania, probably against The Rock. Meaning we must wait another year to get Rock vs. Roman. That's assuming it happens at all but imo that match doesn't need the title to matter. I'm still holding onto some slim hope Randy turns on Cody and beats him for the belt at Royal Rumble.
