hmm.. i guess after from beyond and re-animator it could be a letdown that you're not getting something more like that again. but it's been a favorite as far as i can remember.

Thought I owned Needful Things and I don't. That's disappointing

Ralph, wtf is wrong with you?
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread

Dolls is a 9.4 or 9.5.
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
I'm going 9.5
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
I only watched Dolls I believe once before this. I remembered thinking it was good. This go-round I was totally blown away. A very rare 5 stars from me.

New siggy, which means it's time for Dolly Dearest after I make a cup of coffee.

Are you talking about the Audra scene early on? Otherwise, I can't remember a scene in It Part 2 with a movie in a movie.
If it's the "you suck at writing endings," thing, that's a somewhat common complain lobbied at Stephen King, and it pops up a few times throughout the second part (such as during King's cameo).

i didn't know that criticism was out there about stephen king himself. that explains it.Jigsaw wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 2:14 pmAre you talking about the Audra scene early on? Otherwise, I can't remember a scene in It Part 2 with a movie in a movie.

Currently on the Dolly Dearest menu screen of my Vinegar Syndrome bluray. The music is intense. Very cool. I remember really liking this one a lot, but I think Dolls is probably going to end as my all time favorite Little Liller Thriller.
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
Anybody else seen this movie? I don't recall ever talking about it with anyone.

The synth and piano in this movie is amazing.

Seen it. Actually discussed it with Chucky on the FE podcast.
Might be worth a listen to hear our thoughts, if you're interested, but long story short, I'm not a big fan of it (though I saw it on the opposite of bluray, so what do I know?)

I will check that out.

Dolly Dearest is credited for being the inspiration for Annabelle.
Re: 2024 October Challenge Discussion Thread
I remember liking it well enough and getting some very moderate Exorcist vibes with the creepiness of the doll. Rip Torn's non-drunkenness is also a prominent memory.
