This is like Predator meets Friday the 13th. Except it's older than Predator.

Why didn't anyone inform me of how good this was?

i guess it gets talked over on the barker end by hellraiser and candyman. and over on the supernatural monster end by pumpkinhead.

all this talk of heredity puts me in the mood for another "female heavy" horror flick.

Rawhead Rex may be as good or better.

Rawhead Rex is in strong contention to take over When Evil Lurks for best new viewing.

Gonna sit on that thought for a few hours. That movie kicked ass.

I haven't seen Rawhead Rex since whatever Challenge I first watched it in. Been over eight years, though, I know that much. Can't honestly say I remember much about it, but I only saw it the once, so that might be excused.

Yeah, I'll say that I largely like the ending, save that stupid spanking scene in the credits (which was a hold-over from the end of the plays' performances, if my memory serves correctly).

yeah, that's fair. i thought the "don't spoil the movie!" ending was a nice touch but i could have done without the spanking.

Starting up Rawhead Rex for a new watch. This is one of the earliest out-of-print experiences I can remember. Every time I went to Hollywood Video to rent horror movies I looked for this one on either VHS or DVD to see if they ever had it in stock and they never once did. The DVD was always insanely expensive and then a few years ago I got the KL Studios release on bluray.

Probably been more than 20 years I've been waiting to see this movie. Expectations are in the mid-high 5s or low 6s.

I had high expectations when I first sought it out, then for whatever reason I wasn't expecting much. My instincts were correct.

so there was a murder scene but if not for nudity involved, it could have fit right into a made for tv movie. which is made more disappointing because of the nudity.

After very careful consideration between Rawhead Rex and When Evil Lurks for best new watch of the challenge, I have decided that Rawhead Rex did not quite surpass When Evil Lurks for best new watch. When Evil Lurks is still king by a hair.
