Here's a random story to start out the day.

I voted absentee on Thursday - for my congressional race (Indiana's 3rd), there were three options - a Republican, a Democrat, and a Libertarian.

Now, God knows I have my problems with Libertarians, but the other two options are quite a bit worse (it didn't help that I reached out to the Democrat twice, and never heard anything back), and I have voted Libertarian once before (the 2016 congressional race here, which, interestingly, is also the last time a Libertarian was running in this district), and so I voted for the Libertarian.

I reached out to him on Facebook yesterday, letting him know I voted for him, and wished his campaign luck (in 2016, the Libertarian managed almost 7%, though that's for reasons I won't detail here - point being, I'm suspecting he'll get around 4.5% or so, but election night will tell). I had commented on some of his posts before, so he recognized me, and asked if I wanted to be a bigger part of his campaign should he run again in the future (which I advised he do, should he lose in November, which, naturally, he will).

The conversation afterward doesn't matter, but this is how it all ties in - as I was walking back from work, I happened to see a truck with his campaign sign on it, and a guy who looked suspiciously like the guy I had just voted for, and it turns out if was. He was doing some potential relief work for the hurricane as opposed to a political event, but I was able to speak to him for a good forty minutes or so.

All of this is to say that it's now twice in a row where I've physically met the person I voted for in my congressional race - back in 2022, I voted for an independent I had met in my downtown, and this random occurrence today.

Just goes to show... something. :P

Ironically, I got off work a bit early, but because I spent as long as I did talking with this guy, I'll still only be able to fit a couple movies in, but thought it was a nice random surprise.

Hope all of your days are going well, especially Tigg.
