Depends I guess. You can look at it in terms of how good the movie is, or you can look at it in terms of how much better it is than the original. You can get different results.
indeed. all subjective and could be reasoned from different perspectives.

i wanted to watch maniac tonight. not sure i'll be able to now cause life got in the way a bit and i'm still not finished with possession. maybe i can still squeeze it in after. but it's looking less likely. :(

that does seem to be the consensus. except in reverse order.

Most like Fly over Blob? I would've thought it'd be the other way around

Thir13en Ghosts, representin'!
nah. i suspect more russell and less shalhoub.
Obviously the Thing takes #1 in a landslide, and #2 most likely to the Fly. But I like 13 Ghosts, definite top 10 for me.
Blob > Fly
Look, Kevin Dillon is my dude, but the Golden Bloom gives one of the best performances in horror history in the Fly, bruv bruv.

i think it comes down to how you evaluate. if you want fun, then the blob wins. if you want chills and unsettlement then the fly wins. and i guess overall horror fans want the serious horror over the cool romp.

That movie rocked the shit. I gave it an 8.7 but I don't think it makes my top 25. The other two will make it for sure though.

Shawnee Smith > Geena Davis :P

I feel like those are the big three remakes. I think picking the three most underappreciated remakes will be totally skewed across the board for everyone though

Would agree, Dawn of the Dead and Body Snatchers only ones I see contending.

I didn't like the Dawn remake at all but it's been almost 20 years so I'll have to rewatch that at some point.

As far as underappreciated I think Friday the 13th (2009) is among the best horror remakes out there and worlds better than the Nightmare and Halloween remakes.
